This episode is a combination of EXTREME HOTNESS and EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION also EXTREMELY GOOD CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. It’s really hard to objectify strong independent women with extreme character depth…SO HAVE A DOGGY!
SO THIS WEEK I NEED TO CLARIFY SOMETHING GUYS. DO NOT PANIC. EVERY WEEK IS NOT PSYCHE BREAKING PERSONAS WEEK. I PROMISE. IT’S ABOUT TO CHILL THE FUCK OUT AND ALMOST NEVER HAPPEN. THE PLOT IS ABOUT TO HIT THE FAN! I needed to clarify that so we didn’t start getting the monster of the week vibe. Because that’s cray cray guys. AND YOU DON’T WANT TO HAVE CRAY CRAYBITCHES UP IN HURR RIGHT? GO WATCH FUTURE DIARY IF YOU WANT THAT SHIT OKAY
So to start off the episode we get a cutesy flashback of how Chie and Yukiko first met. It is adorable. Go watch it.
But then it turns out….YUKIKO GOES MISSING! Yeah, remember the silent hot chick who is the typical Japanese beauty? Well yeah she’s next. DON’T DIE YUKIKO, YOU’RE TOO COOL TO DIE! I DON’T WANT TO HAVE A TESTOSTERONE PARTY. AND WHO WILL REPLACE YOU?! TEDDY?! THAT’S NOT A BEARY GOOD IDEA!
Oh wow that hurt a little to say.
But mind you she doesn’t go missing right away. They THINK she goes missing right away, and she doesn’t, and then well….let’s just…take a look see.

I love you Midnight Channel XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
So MIDNIGHT CHANNEEEEEEEL THEY ALL GO!
While they’re looking for her Jiraiya and Izanagi KICK ASS! The forced caps plus awesome action made for crappy screens so GO, GO WATCH IT AND STARE IN AW AT YOSUKE’S AWESOME WAY OF SUMMONING. So Chie runs ahead to find Yukiko and hears Yukiko’s voice, just like they heard Saki’s before. Yukiko talks about not liking herself and when she finishes, instead of Yukiko there is Chie’s shadow self, waiting to confront her.
Shadow Chie reveals Chie’s hidden feelings of superiority over Yukiko, and the fact that she doesn’t have to be. She’s extremely pretty but can’t do anything without Chie, or so Chie feels. Chie feels on top of the world because of that. You know, watching this show makes me think. Of course we all have those feelings, the dark ones we don’t like to admit. But there is a reason we don’t admit them- because even though we feel that way we know it’s wrong and try to suppress it. By accepting those feelings we become more whole and are able to harness them for better uses. Literally in Persona, but for us in the real world it makes us able to see our flaws and try to accept them. If we acknowledge the dark parts of ourselves we can work on making sure we don’t let those feelings become more than fleeting thoughts. We may think badly of our friends sometimes but we love them all the same, and knowing we all have those feelings makes us human. I really love the psyche of persona. Yeah, we’ve all got darkness. We’ve got to accept it and continue our lives without letting it tear us apart.
And that is what Chie’s friends have to convince Chie into doing. She’s horrified of that part of herself and so her shadow self becomes a Persona and begins to fight Jiraiya and Izanagi.
But while Chie struggles to accept her darkness, Yu remembers Margaret’s words, or she talks to him in his mind. EITHER WAY! Yu realizes he has the potential to use more than one persona because of these words!
He changes his persona to Pyro Jack and is able to defeat Shadow! Chie because of it. After defeating her Persona, Chie may now use it to fight! Unfortunately the fight exhausted all of them and they must leave before finding Yukiko. Yu and Yosuke reassure her and one things for sure, we’re in for a ride next week….er….two days from now XD
On that note…
Happy Halloween Folks! I hope you enjoy our Mascot Iris in her costume!
