With Araki’s irresponsible and inconvenient behaviour, the SC players grow more pissed off about how their new coach is handling things. One after another, they decide to leave the team.

Impression:
Araki is screwing up everything up. His attitude is starting to tick me off, and I especially hate how irresponsible he is acting.
I don’t blame the other guys (SC players) one bit. I too would be beyond pissed off if a teammate weren’t devoting their time properly to practice, and not keeping themselves in proper shape- on top of that with having the coach basically following his lead of when to have breaks and blah blah blah bullshit. I’m going to tell you right now, I once, have actually quit being on a sport’s team because I was so fed up with how they (the players) treated me, and the coach’s stupidity. It wasn’t based on a selfish act, in short, I was basically the third wheel despite having devoted 110% of my time and effort and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it, nor was I respected or rewarded for it while those who didn’t were (which is totally fucked up).
And then we have Takase:
*SOBS* TAKASE!!!! GIVING UP BASKETBALL BECAUSE HE WANTED TO GET INTO SOCCER SO THAT HE CAN PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE AND CLEAR HIS FAMILY’S DEBT! *SOBS*
OH GOSH HE’S SO SELFLESS AND HELPS HIS FAMILY SO MUCH!
BUT I’M SO PROUD OF HIM TO BE TRYING SO HARD AND PRACTICING WHENEVER HE CAN!!!
I feel bad Takase because he was so passionate about basketball, but even though he started off with what both Kaoru and I identified as ‘ill’ intentions, he was able to come to love soccer- which is fantastic. Both sports are awesome! <3
Kaoru was kind enough to take him into consideration, but I do understand he was upset. To have someone play halfheartedly and aren’t passionate about it leaves an impact on how they play. I’m glad that he was able to see that Takase does genuinely care about soccer and enjoys it and help him out. The ending was super sweet with the gang practicing together.
And finally, the last thing I want to talk about is Silva.
Oh my god, the air was so onminious that I shuddered. Most certainly for Silva to be participating in the inter-high tournament is quite a problem for Kakeru and his team, especially because that player in particular was Suguru’s rival.
Overall great episode, I’m really glad that the whole division within the team was not completely resolved within this episode. I’ll be looking forward to next week as Oda in particular looks like he won’t be able to stand aside by the side lines watching his team get destroyed or struggle against whoever they will be going against for a practice match.
