“We will find happiness, in the name of this food”
This is probably my favorite ‘Wedding’ episode to date. It was so epic and so fresh because they threw in a twist making the wedding entirely different from the routines we are so used to see in this genre. I mean come on, instead of a cathedral or going somewhere fancy, the bride and groom decided to host it at Yuuko’s family restaurant, and instead of having a cake, they had a tower of fried chicken as well! YUM! YUM! This episode made me smile from start to finish and laugh along the way.
I loved the tradition (correct me if I am wrong, it sounds like it comes from Hime’s Kingdom) called ‘Something Four’, it is a cute idea! The bride is to have something new, something old, something borrowed and something blue. Today the girls and their friends helped the bride prepare for that by providing a new veil, an antique tiara, Hikawa’s sister, Maria’s handkerchief and a bouquet of blue roses. It was nice to see Hime adapt and go with the flow despite the change of what she more of less expects when she thinks of a wedding (French Food, Cathedral) and all that jazz, but she did her best to help make the bride’s and groom’s ideal wedding come true.
It turned out to be quite emotional for me when the bride revealed that she had something she wanted to borrow, but couldn’t because her friend (Maria, Hikawa’s sister) is abroad right now (truthfully: she is probably trapped in the mirror). So it was nice to see that Hikawa had given the bride her sister’s handkerchief in her steed.
Hikawa is slowly warming up to the girls, baby steps though. At least she isn’t shooting Hime down like she used to, so there is definitely progress. Next week they imply that the Precure Team will be truly formed. I do expect that after the soccer match and during their next fight that Hikawa will find her place in the group, but I don’t think she is quite ready yet. She has barely interacted with the girls up till now, so she might be in and out of their fights before she truly included into the group. It all comes down to her accepting Hime and willingly to work alongside them. Nevertheless, it was good to see her fight with them today.
While the conversation was short, it was fun to listen to the the girls discussing about wedding dresses and it was absolute gold when Hime included Seiji into the conversation and asks him what dress would he like to see his bride in, and he responds with, “A dress?” Ahahaha! So cute! But is it just me, or does it feel like Hime ships Seiji x Megumi… I don’t know… it’s hard to tell, but I am getting that feeling right now, that’s for sure. When Hime then asked Blue about what he’d like to see his bride where, man- it was brief, but the tension was thick. That was clearly a sensitive topic for Blue and he brushed it off by coldly reminding the group that Precures are forbidden to fall in love (IT’S COMING, THE ROMANCE AND HEARTBREAKS IS COMING~ Not so just yet though LOL, give it another ten, twenty episodes).
PS: Who else thought Elena was/looked like Kanade from Chihayafuru, they look exactly the same LOL!!!!

    Oh yes. I just watched the previous episode and this one back to back, and it seems pretty clear that Hime is shipping the two of them. Between saying that she thought Megumi specifically (just Megumi) should be making a special lunch to cheer Seiji on at the karate tournament, and now asking Seiji what he wants his bride to wear and then turning back to Megumi with “Seiji said dress!” No matter what Blue may say, Hime seems to definitely be shipping Seiji x Megumi.
    (PS: Blue, don’t be such a stick in the mud. Friendship and love are a Precure’s weapons.)

      Yup, it’s official then: Hime is the Captain of Seiji x Megumi ship LOL

    But…Something Four is an actual tradition in weddings. I’ve heard of it before, at least. ^^;
    I’m thinking I should check out Happiness Charge Precure, it looks really cute! 😀

        Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. I’ve heard the rhyme before, but I never knew what it referred to.
