A month ago, an opportunity came up where in exchange of reviewing Zenmarket’s services, I would be able to purchase any item I wanted within their given budget. But as excited I was about it, I didn’t think it’d be fair for the team if I were the only one to get the free item since I am the one doing the review, so I figured, “Why not do a raffled giveaway?” So that being said, I am very thrilled to announce AngryAnimeBitches’ very first raffle! Many thanks to the Zenmarket’s representive I have worked with, for giving us this opportunity.
It was a tough decision of what to purchase. As having bought several items from AmiAmi, Hobbysearch, and CDJapan in the past, I figured I would like to try purchasing some exclusive goods that I usually can’t buy from because either the online shops do not have an English site, or they do not ship internationally. The conditions were also that I had to purchase an item that was in stock, so I searched around but I didn’t find anything within the budget or in-stock (sorry guys) and I decided to get Bandai’s Sailor Moon figure. Now, I will let you know I have purchased it at AmiAmi with Zenmarket’s services for one, to make sure it was within the budget (because AmiAmi always has the lowest prices, so naturally they are the first place to look at if you have a tight budget) and two: mainly because I am already familiar and trust their services.
Zenmarket offer you three shipping offers, EMS, Airmail, SAL. Strangely enough, EMS was actually a cheaper deal, but I went with Airmail because sometimes when I use or am forced to go with EMS shipping, it charges me for customs and I didn’t want to deal with that possibility. Typically, I would choose SAL, but I ended up with Airmail because it was the second best deal for the shipment.
And thus, three weeks later, my delivery arrived. Let’s take a look of how the delivery went!

Lots of paper and the item wrapped thickly in bubble wrap! Item and box arrived in perfect condition (should’ve seen how much tape there was on the box! It was tightly sealed!)

As I held the box in in my hands I thought, “Shit, now I want to keep it.” I didn’t realize how excited and how much feels I was going to get just by holding the package. FFFFF— Now I NEED to get my own. *SOBS* IT’S SO BEAUTIFULLLLL!!!!!

So this is how the ordering process works. There are two ways to do this:
A) You can browse different stores that are already affiliated to Zenmarket such as Amazon.jp and simply add the item to your cart.
B) Go to an entirely different website that you already know of/use “Other Shop” page and browse through the selection you may have no been able to purchase from before due to not being familiar with the Japanese language or the shops don’t offer international sales/shipping.
If you doing B: Then go the the site you want to purchase your item from, copy the URL of the item’s page then go to Zenmarket to the cart, and click “Add Product URL”.

Admittedly, it can be confusing if there isn’t some sort of explanation somewhere along the lines (there are instructions on their site), but still I asked a lot of questions of what things means such as: Item Picture.
In the check-out when you pay, there’s an option at the bottom called: Item Picture, that you can choose check off where they would take a picture of the item you have bought before they ship it. It is not free however, Item Picture’s fee is ¥300/item. Frankly speaking, I wouldn’t pay for that because I don’t see the point of it – but that it just my personal preference. Perhaps if it were a valuable item or something, maybe you would want a picture so make sure everything is there or not already damaged.
Zenmarket’s services however do not come free, but worry not! They are not too expensive. They charge you ¥300/item for using their services. This is why I would suggest using Zenmarket when it comes down to trying to get an item that is not being sold or offered internationally. For example, I already know in the future that I will be taking full advantage of their services since I want to get my hands on Nendoroid Red that will only be sold in limited places and only in Japan and I know I will be able to get it on Amazon.jp.
Overall Zenmarket is a perfectly fine service to use, especially as I have mentioned in the above- when it comes down to purchasing items that are restricted to sales within Japan. There have been several occasions where I missed out on an item because it was not available internationally so I am ecstatic that I now have a way to purchase similar merchandise I have missed out in the past.

I love Sailor Moon because It’s a great show with cute characters. I’ve watched it since I was a kiddo, and it’s always been a pick me up if I’ve had a bad day! And when I found websites such as tumblr and deviantart, I was so excited over the community that loved the show and made such wonderful fanart!

I freaking love sailor moon mainly because it was one of the few magical girls anime that did not censor or cut any details regarding to death, love, or struggles. I also love it because it was the first magical girl anime I saw that captivated me when I was small. Not to mention Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask are the cutest.

Sailor Moon..If I had to say what I like about it….I read about it, and how the old series took on topics considered controversial at the time, like Yuri and stereotyping the female persona. It interested me, and I’d like to see how this reboot handles those topics given today’s society.

I love Sailor Moon since I was … I think 10 or so. My uncle got me into it which annoyed my mom. Sadly I’m still into it and I’m waiting to watch the new Sailor Moon anime. Subbed or Dubbed. xD

The character interactions, the comedy, the music, the nostalgia!! (And *cough* the new merchandise~) are some of the reasons why it’s a pretty special anime to me 😛

  9. Emil

What I love about Sailor Moon is it bring back my elementary memories. I still remember watching this at home with Slam Dunk, and Dragon Ball Z. Now that I’m not that young anymore, I’d like to have this item because I’m going to give it to my niece as a birthday gift next month because she loves anime.
