Aki-lucky went from Aki-unlucky and transformed into Aki-lovely!

Here’s the story. Akira lost her modeling career thanks to the scar. It really meant a lot to her, considering her living conditions. I hate how she treats her mom. I never really did like Akira. She gets a visit from her editor and is told to go into a van, and a makeup artist covered Akira’s scar with makeup, making her super happy. And I’ll admit, she was adorable smiling in the mirror. All of this was requested by none other than Iona aka Ulith. Ulith tells Akira all about Iona and her wish, and then we get weird yuri tones from Ulith. This…is familiar.

Apparently, all this time even when she was an LRIG, Ulith had feelings for Akira. The reason why she said those nasty things to her last season was to push her. Her negative emotions make her a better person and beautiful and yadda yadda this scene was kinda creepy y’know? This girl just….

Ulith even sent Akira a makeup kit so she could cover up her scar. Akira even gets a call that “Iona” wants her to star in a commercial with her. Ulith wants to do everything to make Akira’s wishes come true. She lists off Akira’s appearances in magazines like she’s totally obsessed with her. These are her true feelings. And honestly what in the world? This came out of left field. Ulith’s words toward Akira when she was an LRIG were laced with malice so her actually loving Akira doesn’t make sense to me. Now Akira is Aki-lovely, but Ulith doesn’t seem to like that because Akira doesn’t have all that hatred in her anymore. She requests her of something…

On to Ruko, she played WIXOSS with her grandmother, and punishment for losing was to go out and do gssw2.31rocery shopping for dinner. She gets a phone call from Hitoe and Yuzuki telling her that Akira has made an appearance in a magazine again and is looking for Selectors. Not wanting to have that conversation in front of her grandma, she leaves for the grocery store. And then she “runs in” to Aki-lovely. We learn another thing about Iona’s wish. Being Ruko’s LRIG was part of it, but wanting to find another skilled Selector and battling them was another. Aki-lovely asks Ruko to battle because “Oh god I hate this scar and if I can battle I know that I can go on boo hoo”. And this is most likely the request Ulith gave her. To battle Ruko and see how she was doing with Iona. And so our lovely showed us all her new LRIG, Milulun! *insert super moe pose* Ugh. But Ruko agrees.

Battoru time and Ruko’s screwing up. Aki-lovely reverted back to being Aki-crazy and doing well in the battle. Ruko’s the kind of girl where her high is in battling, but her heart isn’t in it. Before, she loved battling because her friends were there and she was with Tama. Now that Tama’s been replaced with Iona, everything is all different now. It’s not fun, it’s not calming. It’s unpleasant. And she’s losing. She doesn’t know Iona’s ability since this is the first time she’s played WIXOSS with her, and Iona is the one making the decisions as to what Ruko should do, with Aki-crazy giving her crap about it. Luckily for Ruko, their battle was interrupted to a construction worker. Has the battle continued, it would have been obvious that Ruko would have lost. Aki-lovely (I’m just going to be calling her by her nicknames btw) makes it clear that she’s going to make both of their lives miserable, and then leaves.

Cut to why-are-you-so-innocent Chiyori, she’s chilling in Japan’s fastfood hybrid, Burger Jack (I’ve been laughing at this so awhile now). Eldora knew about the Selector turning into LRIG thing but had kept it from Chiyori, but since Chiyori is actually looking forward to it, she told her. Everything’s fine and alright until Ulith walks in there. NO, LEAVE HER ALONE. SHE’S THE ONLY ONE THAT MAKES THIS SHOW LIGHT-HEARTED. DON’T RUIN HER.

Next week, we’ll be seeing Hanayo aka Yuzuki. There was also a glimpse of Mayu and Tama, and my theory still stands. More sadness and despair will ensue. Bye-bye-lun!

Battoru times ain’t the same without Tama. She’s so cute, I miss her. 🙁

Opinions on her are probably rather bipolar, but personally I absolutely love Aki-lucky. Not the sweet, fake version she puts up at school and initially last season (is this Aki-lovely?) but rather the crazy, insane one. Her huge scar and angsty screaming captures the very essence of this show’s despair!

I don’t think Ulith really is in love with Akira, it doesn’t make sense given how she acted the whole of last season. She’s using her for her own ends, maybe to fulfil Iona’s wish – in which case a seething hatred of Iona is still required from her. Approaching Chiyori is also probably meant to fulfil Iona’s ends. I’m pretty sure Aki-lucky will be dumped at some point.

Ironically, Ruu is pretty shit with Iona. Maybe they’ll form some sort of twisted friendship based on mutual interest so they can improve together? Well, she stood no chance against suspicious grandma anyway.
