I need to start this by saying I am so glad I got the chance to pick this series up, I am really glad that I remembered it from the magazine and decided to take a look at the anime. With that being said, let’s take a look at what happens here in episode ten.

At the end of last episode, Hide revealed his true form to kill Yuko for calling him out on being a flesh eatting monster. She had the bottle of paint thinner at the ready and actually after it drops and she remembers it’s there, throws it and hits Hide. It burns him killing some of his cells, giving her enough time to get out the window. He spots her and goes to attack as she jumps down through a tree. Gotta say, didn’t expect her to live. Touche’ show, touche’.

With that over with, he tries to reform to his human face but finds himself unable too due to the dead cells that covered in paint thinner. A long story short, he looses it and starts killing, he starts killing a lot. First this teacher and the two boys with him that first see him, then almost all of class 3-3. Which happens to be Murano’s class, so you can imagine when Shinichi hears that the entire class is missing he gets rather worried.

This scene right here, is why I say i’m glad I picked up the series. As Shinichi sees the dead bodies of Class 3-3, he just collapses. He’s in pain, he wants to cry but he can’t. His heart hurts but there is nothing he can do about it. He’s human, but he’s inhuman.

The struggle of seeing these two sides, he’s been so indifferent about noticing how much he’s changed up until this one point. He remembers Murano telling him just how much he’s changed, recalling his father asking him if he was made of steel. It’s just something amazing to behold.

He finds Murano and two boys from her class hiding in a side hallway and tries to save all of them. However, discovering what direction he’d come from, being the same one that everyone died in. The two boys freak out and ask if he’s even human. They run off and get killed by Hide.

Shinichi picks up Murano and gets her out of the school building using his super legs, at the end of the episode when she questions him about this he passes it off as an adrenilin rush as I suspected that he might. After dropping her off with the paramedics he goes to end Hide himself, feeling responsiable for not doing anything about him sooner despite knowing what he was.
I feel that he is both right and wrong in thinking this, I mean, for the most part he’s right. However, he could of never suspected that one of the students would find out what he was and be stupid enough to actually confront him about it and then throw paint thiner on him. There are just some things in life you can’t plan for no matter how good at planning three steps ahead you are.

The police are after Hide and they shoot him up pretty good, but not enough to kill him. Shinichi grabs a rock and moves to a building just outside the area in which Hide could sense him. Using a mixture of his own strength and Migi’s help, Shinichi bullets the rock straight through Hide’s heart taking him down immediately.

The next part of the episode is what we call, ‘old guys sit around and talk in a board room’ time as they make a decision on if to make parasites public knowledge or not. A doctor goes over one method of how to tell a parasite from a normal human. Hair huh? Not bad, gotta say that’s actually rather clever considering what we know of parasites so far.
So, in the end they do not make the idea of parasites public knowledge…at least, not totally. However, it did become a trend to pull a piece of each others hair when greeting each other.

This show, this, all of this. I don’t even know how to deal with it sometimes, I will say for sure that it is not for anyone with a weak stomach. The scene of Shinichi walking through the hallway of dead students, turning over a girls head after mistaking her for Murano from the back. It’s creepy, but you know, it never seems over the top or un-nessicary it merely fits the tone of the show and the story that it is trying to tell. The animation, as always was pretty top notch.
I have no idea where the story intends to go from here, I am happy that the fight between Shinichi and Murano seems to be over. I’m still with Migi from a few episodes ago, I wanna see some human intercourse up in here! Now that I’ve admitted to you all i’m a total perv, i’ll end this review with this….

If you ever suspect that YOUR classmate might be a flesh eating monster, call the cops. Safety first.
