After a one week break, we finally continue on our journey with Yona. And not that this was a bad episode or anything, but it was definitely on the slower side.

While Blue Dragon is alone, he starts to feel his blood boil like Ki-ja did, and  the voice telling him to protect the “king”. The group notices just how different Ki-ja’s village is from this village. They’re the polar opposites. The villagers may fear the Blue Dragon, but Yona knows there’s more to him. So she decides she wants to go back and talk to him. She, Yun, and Ki-ja go, while Hak stays behind. He wants to protect her, but she says she’ll be fine. And we get adorable HakxYona ship feels, but Yona just DOES NOT get it.

*screams*

Interestingly, Yona wants to set Hak free, since he keeps following King Il’s orders of protecting her. But we all know he’s still around her because he likes her. When opening the secret passage, Ki-ja notices a shadow behind him and tells the others to go ahead while he stays. The next scene can basically be summarized as this: Yona asks Blue Dragon to be her ally, but he doesn’t want to because of his terrible past (his “curse”, and people wanting to use his power). No matter what she says, Blue Dragon just doesn’t want to comply. So she gives up, but reminds him of the warmth from his hand and his presence. When Yona and Yun return to Ki-ja, they see a whole group of villagers with weapons standing in front of them. Not wanting the secret of the “curse” to get out, they have to kill them. Yona keeps asking why they view the power as a curse…

Until an earthquake happens. And being in a village inside a mountain, that’s really bad. Hak rushes from his spot to search for Yona, but rocks and debris fall and cover the tunnel. Hak is desperately trying to get to Yona’s side, terrified if she’s dead or not. And this really touched my heart. The desperation on his face shows how much he cares about her.

Luckily, no one is harmed, but since the rocks are in the way, they have no way out to escape and not enough oxygen to breathe, so if they don’t get out soon they’ll die. And again these damn villagers blame the earthquake on the Blue Dragon, even though he didn’t do anything. Yona keeps asking what the hell is wrong with them, and one villager cries out how awful it is when a child is born with the eyes of the Blue Dragon, and they’re all trapped there and blah blah wow i hate these guys. While Ki-ja gets to work to try and get them out of there, Blue Dragon appears. One villager smacks his mask off, and we see his eyes.

That’s where it ends. Not much happens honestly, but it looks like they’re leave the village next episode. Can’t say this episode was bad, but it was a little boring. Kinda disappointed since I had to wait another week for this. Also, Blue Dragon named his pet squirrel Ao.

I know everything is going to get better for ‘The Blue Dragon’ as the episodes go on, but even then I can’t help but think about how his powers tie him down. He’ll never be able to look directly into the eyes of his love. Well, at least he’ll be able to see her eyes, but she won’t be able to stare at his for long unless she doesn’t mind paralysis that is dependent on how long she looks. On top of that, he’ll just slowly go blind??? I hope there’s some way to prevent that :T
