And we’re back to Tribe Cool Crew! Yes, because i’m certain every person here has been excited for Tribe Cool Crew.

It’s been two weeks, and a lot has happened. .. okay that’s a lie. A lot happened in the first of the two and then nothing in the second. What do I mean by that? Let me show you.

So episode 12 picks up where we left off. They just finished their dance for Dance Road and now their rivals (aka cup and ball guy) are up I think they’re called the ‘machine guns’ or something like that. Anyway, they go up and CGI dance to the beat! and…honestly…not going to lie, their dance IS pretty cool.

Go CG, Go CG, Go CG, GO!
Go CG, Go CG, Go CG, GO!

After their dance finishes, a bunch more unimportant people perform so they only get to be shown in a montage. Because fuck them I suppose.

Finally its time for the top 5 out of the 15 to be picked to go on to round 2. The Machine Gun group is picked and then 3 more are picked off screen before the final group is to be picked, and, it ends up being Tribe Cool Crew. (phew. thank god. it’s not one of those ‘lose in the first round but get better’ things)

Go Ducks!
Go Ducks!

They’re given a pin that will let them know when the next round will be. And they basically all go back to their lives until then.

They then get a holographic message that tells them the theme is going to be battle related.

God, it's like i'm summoning a Yugioh card
God, it’s like i’m summoning a Yugioh card

However, the episode isn’t done yet. Because they’re so excited they made it to the next round that Haneru and Kanon decided they HAD to dance for the old man from episode one. Why? DON’T ASK QUESTIONS!

He liked it! Hey Mikey!
He liked it! Hey Mikey!

And that’s basically where the episode ends.

This episode had a lot of plot stuff, and, while I had to watch the same dance i’ve already seen twice, The fact that they’re going to move on to the next round is pretty neat and i’m pretty excited for it. Granted the old man dance at the end was i’m pretty sure was for filler, but all in all, it was a cool episode.

The next episode however…was pretty much ALL filler.

This episode is the Christmas episode. And oh boy do they shove that fact down your throat.

So the episode starts out with Kumo basically saying how he can’t come to a Christmas party with the guys. So like any good anime friends they decide to tail him and find out what he’s up to.

reluctantly of course
reluctantly of course

They soon find out that he’s been going to a nursery school to help out with a principal that threw out his back. Seeing this everyone decides to help pitch in and be all christmasy and help out. And by helping out, I of course mean…. doing a Christmas dance.

Because nothing says Christmas like dropping a beat.
Because nothing says Christmas like dropping a beat.

And…oh crap. that moonwalking guy. he’s going to isn’t he..he’s..

Yeah..yeah I wouldn’t expect anything less.

And that’s basically where the episode ends.

After last episode, this episode felt a bit..unnecessary. I mean sure, it’s a Christmas episode, but, i want to see these guys succeed and make it through Dance Road. However, I don’t know how many more episodes this show is going to have. I hope they manage to finish it before the season runs out.

The first episode was actually very good. there was tension, I actually cared about what was going on, the dances were pretty neat, and it excited me for the next episode where I hoped Dance Road would continue and see the next step on their journey.

Episode 13, however, didn’t do that. All it did was make me glad I didn’t watch this episode by itself so I didn’t get annoyed that I would have to wait another whole week for the next episode.

"so where's Kumo off to?" "Probably to 'I don't give a shit' land"
“so where’s Kumo off to?”
“Probably to ‘I don’t give a shit’ land”

I get they wanted to make a Christmas episode, but sometimes, it just doesn’t fit, and this is one of those times.

All in all though I can’t say I didn’t have a good time with both episodes, because I did. I had MORE of a good time with 12, but I didn’t want to throw things at a window with 13, so that’s good. Hopefully, next week we’ll be back to Dance Road…hopefully.

Episode 12: 7.5/10

Episode 13: 6/10

Enough of these reviews! LET’S DANCE!
