Now I know what you’re all thinking, and the answer is yes, this show is still going on. How? I’m not quite sure, but this show is still trucking along with no end in sight. Without even knowing it, I guess I’m in for the long haul.

Well, might as well jump straight into it.

So the episode starts after….what happened last week and they end up at the hotel that they have to stay at for the night as Dance road will be the next day. Haneru gets bored staying in the hotel so he decides to go exploring around the town with Kanon.

Unfortunately they are set upon by a group of thugs but are saved by two dancers, Lui and Moe.

Huh....well Moe looks like she's from New Jersey

Excited that they’re dancers, Haneru begins to ask them questions, but Lui asks him in return what their color is. Haneru doesn’t know how to answer this and heads back to his team.

He asks them each what they think their color is, but Kuma is irritated with this line of questioning so he decides to face Lui and Moe on a 2 on 2 dance battle.

After the battle ends, Haneru learns that they don’t really have a theme as each of the dancers on their team are unique. They agree to a draw and that’s basically where the episode ends.

Hooray for Draws!
Hooray for Draws!

I’m just going to get this out of the way by saying that yes, this week’s episode was better than last weeks. Of course, that is not saying much. Honestly if they just around talking about different pies it would have been better than last week.

But was it a good episode in general? Well…it was okay.

I see what they were trying to do with this episode. They were trying to show that they look like a ragtag group of uncoordinated, oddly dressed people, but that’s their motif, and it’s what works for them.

Lui and Moe were interesting characters and were mildly amusing, but there wasn’t enough of them to really get to know them and become enamored with them. And really, I don’t know if we’ll ever see them again. It would be nice if we did though.

Sure we met some new characters in the series, we saw some of their super cool dances and we see that Haneru learned something, but overall….it didn’t really add much to the story.  It was a filler episode which….for lack of a better term was pleasant. There was nothing offensive or annoying about it, it was simply kind of there.

In all honesty, the only thing i’m really getting annoyed at is the fact that we’re 23 episodes in and we still have the same theme song. It’s like, really? you couldn’t have a new opening theme song at this point? Hopefully when we hit episode 25 and the equivalent of “this season” will be over and they’ll decide to grace us with a new opening. It’s a nitpick, I know, but I enjoy new openings.

Overall, the episode was okay. Not fantastic, not terrible, it was just kind of….there?

Hopefully next week we’ll get back to dance road. Hopefully.

Episode 6/10
