So now that we’re back to Denpa Kyoushi we can ask ourselves an important question. Does this episode have anything to do with anything or will it be another episode of chasing Kagami around Akihabara for 20 minutes? Mercifully it’s the prior and not the latter. So what does happen? Well let me start this recap up and i’ll tell you.

So the episode picks up exactly where the last one left off. The sword girl wants to expel grey eyebrow girl from school because she works in a maid cafe. (Huh. I had no idea that school reps had the authority to expel a student. Interesting.

Seriously hon, you have weird eyebrows
Seriously hon, you have weird eyebrows.

Kagami then tells her that she can’t expel her as she has no reference on what it is to a maid and explains that she has to be a maid herself for a day at a maid cafe.

So she and Kagami’s sister are sent off to be maids. (Yeah….they really don’t talk about the sister that much for the rest of the episode so her being a maid too is kind of pointless).

The sword girl thinks she’s beginning to understand about the hardships of being a maid in a maid cafe and also the happiness it can bring the customers but Kagami informs her that she’s a long way off from being a truly good maid as a great maid can anticipate what kind of service/character the customer wants and change their personality instantly.

Ah. That must be a young Ken Akamatsu

However, even after the whole day the sword chick is still like “yeah….this doesn’t change anything. I’m still going to expel her because i’m a dick.”

Kagami figures she was going to say this so he sends out a tweet that something interesting’s going to happen at 9 in a place in Akihabara. What is that something interesting? Well it turns out that eyebrow girl is actually a secret underground idol named “Cutter” and Kagami set up a stage for her to sing to change everyone’s view of maids.

Kagami explains how she’s a wonderful maid and a good person but eyebrow girl says how she became a maid for her own selfish reasons such as wanting to sing and she liked the outfits. Kagami replies with how it doesn’t matter because she made so many people happy.

Sword girl is not very happy at these turn of events and tells her that if she doesn’t go out and sing she won’t be expelled but if she does, she will, but eyebrow girl basically blows her off and goes like “pfff bitch I do what I want”

That's right, listen to your grandma young lady! (haha..stupid white/grey hair)
That’s right, listen to your grandma young lady! (haha..stupid white/grey hair)

So she goes out and sings and before the song even ends, the video has over 10 million views. the chairperson says to sword girl that it would be a pretty terrible idea to expel her as she’s basically a celebrity now. Sword girl basically gives up and realizes she’s been beaten. And that’s pretty much where the episode ends.

This episode was definitely better than the last one. Of course…that..really isn’t a feat considering last episode was slowly chasing a guy who didn’t even know he was being chased for 15 minutes.

There were indeed some good moments in this episode like the manager of the place having different personalities for each master, and the song sung by grey hair wasn’t bad either.

One of the biggest issues of this show i’m having though is I’m very confused about the whole…teacher..thing. Is he actually going to be a teacher or is he just going to kind of fart around giving lessons? I mean he was a teacher for 1 1/2 episodes in one school, then he got fired, and now this other girl is trying to get him to teach at this school. Are we….just forgetting about that first school and the girl who wants to be a voice actor? And that other girl who didn’t speak up about the fake sexual harassment thing? We dropping that?

I dunno, but besides that, this week was a DEFINITE improvement from last week. This show is definitely bringing in more and more characters every week. I definitely hope that the characters won’t be episodic and fall by the wayside and actually return.

This show isn’t laugh out loud funny, or squeeingly adorable like Ore Monogatari, but it’s nice. It’s a fun, pleasant show that has some good lessons and sometimes a 4th wall break out there just to keep you on your toes.

All in all, I had a lot of fun this episode and definitely am more excited then I was at the end of last week.

Episode 7/10
