Well, this show has no intention of slowing down on the feels train does it? Well, it sort of slows down in this episode and then during the credits, takes a knife and shoves straight through your heart.

So the episode starts out with Tsukasa and Isla botching another retrieval mission, this is the third one in a row. Despite the fact that Michiru is giving them relatively easy retrieval.  Well, it doesn’t really start that way, first we meet Yasutaka Hanada. Who is lazy and girl crazy, he kind of reminds me of Koji from Evangelion. I don’t know why so many of the characters remind me of Evangelion characters.
Sure it’s just a coincidence.

We meet him and we learn that Tsukasa got his job because his father is friends with the companies president.

So, Isla’s old partner and now Tsukasa’s superior, Ms. Kazuki invites him out drinking to talk over the problems he’s having with working with Isla. She admits that Isla had her quirks, but she hopes they learn how to work together. She drinks too much and ends up getting taken home by Hanada, who i suppose is her regular drinking buddy. As we see a picture of them drinking together and they frequent the same bar.

Tsukasa returns to work and sees a notice on his computer, that Isla had an appointment at the maintenance room. He walks to see what that is about, and we meet two more new characters. The members of the maintenance squad. Eru, the cute spunky probably a machine girl an the old, grumpy, probably human, Mikijiro Tetsuguro.
We see her swimming around in a pool and doing tasks as the maintenance squad monitors her bodies skills. As she finishes, he goes in and talks to her. It’s obvious that she is having problems.

He states that he’s the kind of person that always does everything by the manual, of course, for this job that seems to be a problem. Since the manual is really vague about everything, only saying things like ‘Judge the situation’ or ‘Be resourceful’ or stuff like that. So, he decides the best way to be resourceful is to until she gets back into better shape. Handle negotiating with the handlers himself.
Of course, this is a radical way of thinking and he gets chewed out by Michiru for it later despite the fact she doesn’t tell him NOT to do it. So, whatever?

So he begins making his own manual on how to do the job that is less vague about everything. They go out, re-try the capture we see them fail earlier on in the episode with Tsukasa fronting up the negotiations this time.
They go much better and after finishing up working on the car they were repairing. Max is let go by his owner and has his memories removed. All this as the credits play, and then.
It fades, it comes up on Hanada and Kazuki. Sitting doing their work, Hanada comments that he’s surprised that she hasn’t told Tsukasa. Something that would probably be very important to know.
She has yet to tell Tsukasa…that Isla’s time limit will be up in 2’000 hours.

WELL, why don’t you just take a knife and plunge it into our hearts Plastic Memories!? Have you ever heard of you know, slowing down Satan? It’s not like Isla is absolutely adorable and it’s going to depress the hell out of us to watch her slowly deteriorate or anything. Gah, this episode was so good, even in two episodes this series has not failed to be exactly what I expected of it. A large bucket of feels.
On a side note, the opening was brought in this episode and it’s absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait for the next episode, because i hate myself and enjoy having my heart ripped out aparently.
