Well, I certainly hope you like a lot of plot dumped on you! Because if not, then I’m sorry, this episode’s not going to be for you.

As these episode go on, they begin to make more and more sense, and all I have to ask is, WHY COULDN’T IT HAVE MADE THIS MUCH SENSE IN EPISODE 1?! (sigh) anywhoozle, let’s get onto the plot recap, because there’s quite a bit this time around.

So the episode starts up with Yuma back in his/her body. He heads back to the house and there, meets up with the cat spirit. It seems he was sent back to December 21st (aka to episode 1)

Today? Why today is Christmas day!
Today? Why today is Christmas day!

The cat spirit lets him know that he’s the one that has to stop the asteroid from destroying the planet. And we FINALLY learn why his panty seeing destroys the earth. Apparently a spirit is fragile outside of the body, so when he yubafies twice as a spirit, the body can’t take it and is destroyed, and that cancels out the possibility of a good future where the asteroid doesn’t hit the Earth since Yuma is needed to save it. Okay, that actually makes a bit of sense.

The big thing is that the cat spirit tells him that he can’t tell everyone what’s going on as other Yuma’s have tried that in the past and it never works. In fact, over FOUR BILLION yumas have tried to save the world and ALWAYS failed every single time. Jesus Bill Murray, eat your heart out.

The cat tells him that certain events DO have to happen, but there are important points where they DO have to change otherwise the Earth will be destroyed.

Geez, is this a "use trains to explain shit" week or something?

Ah time travel, you are always so complicated.

Speaking of complicated we do learn a little tidbit of fun information. Okay, remember last time how we found out that Yuma’s really a girl? Well it turns out that when you’re yubafied your spirits can easily pop out. So when trying to escape from the lab when they were kids, they all yubafied at the same time and they all switched spirits into different bodies, so now, the boy of the group had his body switched into Himiko’s, aka one of the girls. So yes. He is literally a man trapped in a girl’s body.

Knowing future events, Yuma tries to drastically alter the past, including stopping the teacher before he can go all crazy murderer on them, however, the cat once again stops him telling him that that won’t work.

And the episode basically ends with him receiving the superhero suit in the mail.

Damn, you really CAN get anything from Amazon...

This episode was indeed a plot heavy one. Like, wow. They explained a LOT of stuff this episode. Seemingly a lot of the insane nonsensical crap actually begins to make a little more sense in this episode. For example, now it actually makes sense that the world gets destroyed when he sees panties, also we know why he acts like a boy even though he’s a girl, and we begin to see why certain events happened in previous episodes because we see them do it now. All in all, a trippy, yet informative episode.

Here’s the thing with me and time travel. I LOVE time travel, but it’s got to be done correctly. One little mistake can turn a great time travel story into a terrible one. And of course, time travel stories always have the one frustrating aspect about them. The need to return to status quo. Aka, fixing the timeline so it becomes what it used to be.

You better not status quo time travel cock block me you damn cat!
You better not status quo time travel cock block me you damn cat!

I do realize the point will be to stop the Earth from being destroyed, yes, but if they plan to do that while keeping every event that happened to be nearly identical, then that’s not much of a story for me, I find that very boring. Time travel needs to be about changing the past and then dealing with those changes as they come as they affect the future as opposed to going “whoops! Can’t change the past! Sorry!”. Aka, more Frequency and less 11/23/63. There is NOTHING more infuriating to me in a time travel story than after having changed something, having to go back and undo it. That drives me INSANE.

I don’t know what they’re going to do from here, but I do have to admit that this show IS beginning to intrigue me. I want to see how they’re going to handle this time travel and if they’re going to do it justice. The only thing I know is that they’re going to save the planet at the end of this series (…call it a hunch) I don’t know however HOW they’re going to do it and that’s keeping me more than a little interested. I’m definitely up for next week and I have to say, kudos on you show. You went from being a show I did not give a crap about to a show that I’m actually starting to get into. The characters are really the only things that aren’t all there for me, but hopefully with time that will change too.

Hah. with “time”. I see what I did there.

Episode 7/10
