First of all, I have to say something. I looked on wiki today and noticed that it said that this show was going to have 24 episodes. This caught me by surprise as I had no idea this would be the case. I would have bet money on this show being a 12/13 episoder. However, I guess that goes to show what I know. That means we’re in this one for the long haul guys, so we might as well get started.
So the episode starts with Koutaro (the crossdressing truant) having a bad dream that the guys from a few years ago that called him gross showed up and called him gross again. And then he wakes up. … Riveting?
Logging into the game he sees Kagami who shows up just to tell him that he’s not going to really be playing for a while and leaves, leaving Luce by himself.
Meanwhile back at school in the real world Kagami goads the tough guy (you know, basically the only other male that looks like a male in this show) to go after Luce and get his pride back from the defeat he suffered last time.
However, when he shows up, Luce’s being skeezed on by a few player characters but Seijiro shows up and whoops them. Feeling he can trust him, he tells Seijuro that he’s really a boy and the truant from their school. Seijuro really doesn’t give a single shit however and tells him as much.
Shortly after that we find out that the manga artist chick had overheard their conversation and goes to hang out with Koutaro to prove that not everyone is a bunch of assholes by taking him out to try on more girl clothes. Then of course a bunch of assholes show up to be creepy jerks. Luckily irregular twin tails (aka the student council president) shows up to scare them away.
She takes the two back to her house and they have dinner as she treats Koutaro gently and tells him that he can come back to school or her house whenever he wants.
The episode then basically wraps up with Kagami preparing to start a lesson that we’re going to see next episode.
All I have to say is, My god, we’re still on this student? Most of the student arcs were done in a single episode, a few of them maybe taking two. This dude is going to need FOUR?! REALLY?! I just…I don’t care about Koutaro the crossdressing whiner. I really really don’t. Can we please just move onto another student’s problems?
I mean, WHY is it taking so long to fix this? It took you all of one episode to get the last truant to get to school and now it’s going to take you FOUR FUCKING EPISODES? This is stretching it. And the problem is, Koutaro’s not even interesting enough to stretch to these four episodes. He’s bland. He’s flat. He has no personality other than “boo hoo i’m sad when people are jerks to me when I crossdress.” That is LITERALLY his only schtick. He has no other personality.
Go back to the maid chick or the manga artist or SOMEBODY that’s not him.
That’s not to say that the acting was bad, or the episode in itself was bad, it’s just…I don’t care about this arc anymore. This arc should have been 2 episodes and that’s it. Four really is way too many for this issue. The sad thing is, I know I have at least one more episode of this nonsense.
At least now I know that this won’t be the last arc of the series. Which is good. If it had been I would have not been pleased. Geez. haha. another 12 episodes of this show. All right fine…fine… I’ll keep going. But they better stop having stupid arcs like this.
Yes, we get it. It’s taking Koutaro a long time to trust people and is afraid people will judge him based on his liking of dressing in female clothes. We get it. I just…I don’t care anymore. The first 8 episodes dealt with 5 people’s problems. Episodes 9-12 are pretty much JUST about Koutaro. Stop being a fucking greedy pig Koutaro.
