So we can finally FINALLY breathe a sigh of relief. That’s right. This arc with the crossdressing dude has finally come to an end. It only took four fucking episodes, but it’s done. So i’m just going to jump right into the review so we can be done with this once and for all.

So the episode picks up with Luce unsure of whether or not he wants to go back to school. However, Kagami then invites him to a party that he’s throwing in honor of their big win last episode. Not wanting to turn it down and offend Kagami, he goes.

However, upon arriving, Kagami has a special surprise for him. He has actually brought those three dudes from middle school that made of of Luce for crossdressing. They immediately recognize him as he’s still crossdressing but Luce begs them not to say anything and they begrudgingly agree, but say to him how he’s weak for not telling his friends the truth.

I don't mean the crossdressing. I mean your watching will ferrell movies thing

Following this, Kagami reveals that he set up an event where he would battle Luce online. If he wins, he’ll reveal the secret about Luce to the classmates.

All the classmates join in, and after a long winded battle, it’s down to just Kagami and Luce. They fight for awhile, all the time Kagami telling him how he’s weak for not being who he truly is in public and how he created Luce to be who he really was without fear of people judging him.

In the end, Kagami lets Luce win, but Luce admits to everyone that he really is the truant classmate and a boy.

Thorin! Nooo!
Thorin! Nooo!

And of course, not a single student seems to give a shit and he’ll go back to school. End of episode.

Now if it seemed like this recap was insanely short, that’s because a giant percentage of this episode is focused on the fight in game and as I showed earlier, that recap could have been done very shortly.

Kagami: you all ready for another fight? Random student: I'm not! Kagami: you're getting and 'F' on this Junichi
Kagami: you all ready for another fight?
Random student: I’m not!
Kagami: you’re getting and ‘F’ on this Junichi

At this point however, I’m way past caring about Luce. The character was dull to begin with, and having to spend four episodes with him was draining. This really could have been done in two episodes. We didn’t need 1/3 of the first 12 episodes devoted to this one character. Their problem wasn’t interesting nor important enough to warrant that much attention.

We got it. He’s a crossdresser who refuses to dress as a dude in public and would rather sit in his room. It takes the combined effort of Kagami and everyone else in the class to turn this guy to realize that he has friends. While this might have been cute in 1 or maybe 2 episodes, 4 is way too long and seems greedy. And of course, this won’t lead anywhere as this character will be delegated to the background next episode as these episodic characters are want to do.

I don't really give a shit that you're a dude. can I go home?
Random Classmate: I don’t really give a shit that you’re a dude. can I go home?

As with the World Trigger episode, this episode was a sigh of relief. I don’t have to worry anymore that next week will be more of this. I can jump into the next half of this series looking forward with what’s to come and not rolling my eyes at more crossdressing drama.

This was actually a very cheesy “be yourself and believe in your friends” lesson episode where the moral was so obvious it actually would have made me laugh if I hadn’t been so exhausted with the situation.

Kagami was cool in the episode but that’s really par for the course as he’s cool in pretty much every episode so that’s not saying much.

All in all, for the sheer relief I received watching this episode, I give it a 6.5/10.

Now bring on the new plot!
