The girls spent a couple of days searching for Kanata across the city, but after bumping into Nishikido (the violin craftsmen), they were able to track him down at the violin shop where he was taken into.

Unfortunately, Kanata has an amnesia. We don’t know how he was tossed onto the beach of Yumegahama when he was the one who shut the doors to prevent Dyspear from following them into their world. My only guess she dumped him there after wiping him of his memories.

It was a very difficult for both Kanata and the girls, more specifically towards Towa and Haruka- the only two who each had a special bond with him. The girls has tried everything, from boldly showcasing their transformation, attempting to stir something within him with violin piece he and Towa always played as a child, and took him to the park where he and Haruka met for the first time. While they did succeed in allowing him to experience a sense of nostalgia with the violin piece, he couldn’t play in return because did didn’t know how.

Go! Princess Precure Episode 35 Img 0011But while the girls are frantic to get him to remember as soon as possible, in the process they were hurting him. They were shoving so much out-of-this-world information all at once, it was extremely overwhelming to him. Thankfully, Haruka was not oblivious to this, and told the others they shouldn’t force it upon him anymore. Even without his memories, Kanata is still Kanata, and she the one who reassures him he doesn’t need to remember right away, it will surely coming back to him bits by bits. Haruka then decides to take upon the opportunity to start fresh with a new first introduction. The roles are now reversed, she is now the one who will be supporting him just as he once had supported her. I was proud of Haruka for doing this. Even I was sitting here thinking to myself, “Whoa, slow down! This is all bizarre information to him! Take it slow!” because goodness, they dumped it all on him in one shot. It is amazing in itself that he didn’t freak out about the fairies (who gave themselves away from the get go) and Haruka transforming right in front of him. It was cute though he said she was pretty though- what an adorable moment.
On the other hand, Towa wasn’t too happy about having to wait (which is understandable), but she was able to come up with a compromise to keep her sane by making one request, and that is for him to allow her to call him, “Big Brother”, which he allowed.
Go! Princess Precure Episode 35 Img 0035With starting their friendship from scratch again, I am now wondering if we will see Kanata actively be a part of their group. I would be disappointed to see him left out, so I am crossing my fingers he will be featured in next week’s and future episodes. On top of that, if they choose to include him, I would look forward to seeing what kind of character development he would undergo and how his feelings towards Haruka would change. I am curious about this mainly because before he lost his memories because back in episode twenty, Haruka was kind of “sister-zoned”.
In the mean time, Shut finds himself being deliberately left out of the loop of what Dyspear has asked Crow to take care of. He knows she is aware about filling up the gauges of despair, but what he doesn’t understand is where it went. I highly suspect he will now be investigating into the matter and most of all, I am curious to see what he will choose to do once he uncovers their secret plan. Will he decide to betray Dyspear in revenge of not being acknowledged and left out of the group, or will he keep his mouth shut and continue what he has been ordered to do. It is precisely because Shut has been through so much crap from his side and a bit  of character development is making me wonder if they are setting him up for an opportunity to “make it even” (thanks to Miss Shamour) with the Precure by sharing this crucial secret.

    This episode is very good.
It shows touching and cute moments and a birth of a new hope.
It also has a good pace and a good script too.
What a pity that Prince Kanata really lost his memories. And I’m supsecting that Dyspear has something do with it too, Eva. Remember what she did to Towa episodes ago? I think that dreadful queen did it again with her brother!
The team trying everything to refresh Kanata’s memories is good to watch, but sad as well. And that moment when Kanata calls Cure Flora “pretty” is great, cute, kinda funny and, like you wrote Eva, adorable!
And watching the team (except Haruka and Towa) playing with the children at the hill is cute and fun to see.
I must write, Close is as evil as his queen. I’m worried about Shut, I hope he realizes the plans soon enough. I would be happy if he leaves his dysdark duties once and for all. Not just because it would be nice, but also that he’s having such a bad life being with the Dysdark forces since Towa was saved.
I liked to see the victim’s dream in this episode too, being the same as Haruka’s and Towa’s! To me, that was a surprise. 🙂
And I couldn’t write well about Haruka and Towa in this episode, Eva. But gladly I didn’t have to, because yours are much better and what you wrote about them I agree completely! 😉
The ending of this episode is beautiful and touching. 🙂
Towa being able to call Kanata “Big Brother” (or “oni-sama”) and him calling her just Towa. 🙂
And Haruka and Kanata start being friends once again.
I’m curious of the next episode! And I think Kanata will go with them too! 😀
And if Miss Shamour appears again, I would be happy very much! 😀

*Sniffs* This is definitely one of the most touching anime episodes I’ve ever seen! Its pacing is very smooth and the main spotlight is no doubt Kanata himself who suffered from SERIOUS amnesia (He must’ve got his head banged REAL hard when he covered Haruka’s escape back in episode 21). Kanata has forgotten everything, and countless attempts to bring back his memories especially the last two i.e. playing the violin piece he and Towa used to play when they were still children, and taking him to the flower field where he and Haruka first met, only served to hurt him more because those were bizarre details for him. And to be honest, I’m VERY happy about Haruka! She realized the pain Kanata experienced due to everyone pushing him too quickly and suggested that they take it slowly and rebuilding her friendship with Kanata from scratch. Wow, Haruka’s so mature here! Of course, the one who has been hurt the most is none other than Towa herself because she waited for so long to meet her onisama again, only to realize that her onisama is now a total stranger to her, but at least she urged him to allow her to call him onisama which Kanata agreed… I’m truly weeping for Towa, she broke down numerous times and when she cried again at the end, I broke into tears as well T_T
P.S. It’s so adorable seeing Cure Flora blushing upon hearing Kanata calling her “pretty” XD The ship has sailed again (with their roles now reversed, though)!
Next week, the assemble of the Kaido family is complete!! It appears Kanata will join them and I’m fine with that, but Minami-centric episodes seems to have the suffix “Umi” as always. I’m not really expecting it, but I wonder if my dear Kirara will have her screentime with Wataru or not? Anyway, big applause to Haruka for this episode and gokigenyou all!
And why is Shut still sticking to Dysdark?? Man, I truly hoped that he might be the one who consoled Towa when she’s so down…… The siblings’ bond may be important, but the relationship of a “future” couple should trump over that! Yes, who needs to moan about a siblings’ bond once you are married to your soulmate?
