GOD DAMN IT WRITERS! REALLY? REALLY?, WE WAITED SO LONG FOR XYZ REALM ARC AND WE ONLY SPEND A FEW EPISODES IN AND THEN WE’RE OUT? COME ON, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! YOU HAVE BEEN DOING SO WELL, WHY WOULD SLASH THE ONE ARC EVERYONE WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST?! Oh my god- I can’t tell you how furious I am right now. It definitely feels like they are rushing the story and now I wished more than ever that this series would get an extra year, or at least a season extension- I would have been happy to have twenty-five episodes in Heartland (the sad reality there has only been eleven episodes for it). And it’s not just the fact they virtually ended the Heartland Arc before it even it even began, but they even made the villains flip.

TOO SOON DAMNIT!

Grace, Gloria- they were so cool but what in the world- why so soon? I mean it was already set up to happen obviously, but they could have at least dragged it out. The way and how fast they flipped just made Yuuya’s performance and “success” corny as ****. I can’t- what the hell are the writers thinking?! WHY WHY WHY WHY, WHY MUST YOU SCREW UP NOW?! YOU WERE DOING SO WELL!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to see the resistance fight back- heck maybe by even following Yuuya’s and Yuushou’s example, that would have been cool don’t you think? Sure it would have been corny too, but at least it the problem wouldn’t be solved in virtually two episodes and the villains could still be villains! I am so disappointed, so very disappointed in you writers. And to think (though it seems appropriate based on Gloria’s personality) would just nonchalantly after Edo declares he will side with Yuuya and the others, HEY LET’S SWITCH SIDES!”No seriously, that is literally, what she said. What the actual ***?

AND GUESS WHAT?! THEY ARE LEAVING HEARTLAND AND OFF THEY MERRILY GO TO THE FUSION LAND (OH AND SAYAKA AND ALLEN AREN’T INVITED AND SHUN IS IN A COMA) WHERE SHIT IS ALSO GOING DOWN AND LED BY NONE OTHER THAN THAT DASTARD DENNIS (who is creepy as *** now since he shown his true colors- oh and he was also once Yuushou’s disciple)! Gee, thank god Yuushou was smart enough to focus on juking Dennis real good to give a chance for everyone, including himself to escape. Yuugo and Yuzu were paired up and were about to duel together, which would have been really cool since I don’t think we had the luxury to see them do that together- BUT BECAUSE YUUYA IS NOW THERE, YUUGO DISAPPEARS.

GOD. DAMNIT.

The only two “good” things that happened this episode is how the Courage to Forgive is the best way to end conflict (and better yet Yuuya and Yuuto admitted it can’t solve everything.). It was great to see Kaito have the courage to forgive, and see his own wrongdoing of doing the same to Academia. And this is so true, but gosh, this could have been so beautiful if they actually spent quality time building up to that development.

The other ‘goodie’ was the fact we got a confirmation that yes, the people were being carded because the Professor told everyone by putting them into cards, it will allow them to be reborn in the new world. Good to know I was right about that one I guess.

Oh and surprise- no really, SURPRISE! Guess who else showed up?

THIS ASSHOLE.

YGO ARC V Ep 112 Img 0023

You know, the one that was beat the living shit out of people- if he was part of Academia all long, that would explain EVERYTHING about his violent dueling style (besides the fact that’s how his dueling school teaches). Wonder what that glowing stuff is on him huh- well whatever, I’m too ticked off to care right now.

They spent way too much time in the Synchro Arc and we can also blame DSoD.
But at the same time, there was very little to do in Heartland.
    I agree 50% with you.

Agree, they definitely spent way too much time in the Synchro Realm. 🙁 I would have liked to see a bit of character development from the XYZ Characters like Allen and Sayaka, I thought maybe we could see her grow, but we don’t even have the luxury of seeing that. 🙁
While there isn’t much to do in Heartland, I’m sure they could have found a way to create some interesting events to allow characters to develop further.

I would partly agree with it, seriously. All I can say about the Xyz World arc is just a story about how the heroes gather more reinforcements and gain access to Fusion World by defeating its “Final Boss”.
While it’s forced, yeah I can understand that, since the franchise has big issues with “endgame rush syndrome”, ESPECIALLY in 5D’s and ZEXAL. Then again, the writers spending almost 50 f**cking episodes of the Synchro World arc + the Table Tennis event and the 2-hour DSoD special are to blame for this.
And yes, it would’ve been better if there are more extra-deep character build-ups and developments.
Overall, in my opinion, the Xyz World arc, despite only having 13 Episodes since there’s nothing much to do in Heartland, is not that bad. Yeah sure, it has flaws, but the writers are NOT going to waste anymore time spending 12 more Episodes in Heartland since ARC-V is about to end next March and they’re planning to spend the remaining 30+ Episodes for the Fusion World arc to reach the show’s deadline.
If Takahashi (the franchise’s creator) is involved in ARC-V, then its story could’ve been better.

All I’m going to say is that Arc-V just had rotten luck and that’s it. The Synchro arc back then while not incredibly but wasn’t as great as the first season in the Standard arc with a bunch of issue having no choice in XYZ arc.
I am indeed sad that that it’s ending next year but the only thing I can do is enjoy as much as I can.

      Rotten luck indeed…
TT____TT I know right, so sad it’s going to be ending soon. Although it’s not perfect, I really love this series, I hope it will have an epic finish.

      1. Ken James

True, Arc-V isn’t a perfect YGO series but looking back neither were all the others(IMO). They all have flaws which gives a certain charm to then and certain weakness they have possible improvement once the next series comes. Just like Synchro, Xyz was good in a way but not great and they were pretty had understandable issues.

I CAN’T STAND THE STUPIDITY OF THIS SHOW ANYMORE!! So Edo, Tyler sisters and even Noroma (reluctantly when being cornered by Kaito & the Resistance) all performed the biggest 360° in Yu-Gi-Oh history, solving EVERYTHING as if nothing happened?!! The writers are rushing the plot TOO FAST to accommodate Yuya’s Egao shenanigans it made the whole Xyz arc virtually meaningless!! Not that everything is fine in Fusion Dimension though, I mean Yusho didn’t even flinch a bit upon seeing Yugo (as a Yuya-lookalike) and his duel with the returning DENNIS was merely a smokescreen for everyone to escape… AND YUZU’S BRACELET’S TELEPORTATION BULLSHIT AT WORK AGAIN!!!!
Next week, it’s the return of Mr. “IF IT DOESN’T HAVE A LEVEL DOESN’T THAT MEAN IT’S LEVEL 0”, he got rekted by Berserk Yuya before, hope he’ll get roasted again, no love for that dude!

  5. Sanokal

Honestly, I wouldn’t put returning to Heartland past the show. This is way too happy to happen without them getting dumped on and there’s nowhere to hide in the Fusion Dimension. Plus, Celina should probably still be in Xyz. Assuming that button was correct.

  6. Yithar

It’s kind of interesting how with some shows you’re like “Stop rushing things!” and with other shows you’re like “Stop prolonging things!” I totally expect Vantage to write a review complaining about fillers in Fate Kaleid.
But anyways, I do agree with you. This arc felt so short compared to the Synchro Arc. The Synchro Arc felt a lot more well-developed, with Shinji opposing the Tops until Yuya’s duel with Jack. You could just see the character development. For example, Kurosaki learned the importance of comrades. Yuya learned the importance of communicating through his own dueling. etc.
Everything that happened should’ve happened, but yeah it was way too fast… In the blink of an eye, Grace and Gloria just turned around and betrayed Academia. Afterwards, Kaito seems to have turned around and stopped going solo. After another duel, Edo betrays Academia too. Then Kaito reveals that he’s learned how important friends are. Then they’ve headed off to the Fusion Dimension. I guess they must have some reason they’re rushing the story.

    1. Eva

It all depends on the show and its pacing. Sometimes the process it too slow, sometimes it’s too fast, both in their own ways (more often than not) end up negatively impacting the quality of the story its developments. And oh yes, the dreadful fillers that nobody likes (unless it’s actually fun to watch). It is safe to say I prefer plot heavy material and I tend to be exceptionally keen to these things. These type of issues very rarely slip pass my radar.
RIP Grace and Gloria short-lived days as the villain. Man I loved them so much ugh all that hype. Talk about raining on the parade.
Yes I agree, they definitely have many reasons to be rushing it- even more so when there is not that much time left, less than a year now 🙁 *SOBS*
During the Synchro Arc, seeing how long it was dragging out, I had hoped ARC-V was going to have an extra year/extension. But alas, that isn’t happening so now all we can do is hope for the best for the final arc. Let’s finish on a high note!

Zexal II was really better to write a war plot.
Even when the Barian lord’s was defeated by yuma and power of friendship, they understood this feeling but they never had betray their conviction or join yuma because as Shark said during the final ” It’s not because two people understand each other that things can change”.
Arc-v should follow this exemple

    1. 75chaosflare

It was more debatable in Zexal II due to more it being seen as a battle of good vs evil at most than a war.
The Barians were seen as different kinds of figure heads that were dragged into hell/manipulated by a demon. The issue with Shark and Yuma afterwards while ended out very good, the start of it however was a bit complicated when he and Rio instantly changed sides once their memories returned while in their dead descendants bodies.
Arc-V on the other hand is going on war even though it has a bunch of issues in between of it. It was basically in this they actually humanize the character a lot more and go with ideologies as well as fighting for what most people see for what’s best/the greater good.
Overall, they both are great with doing the own things and even in the beginning of Arc-V you can kind of tell in this they go with the approach of the kind of impact it could have(Xyz) as well as the possibilities it could lead(Standard and Synchro). However, in the end they may not exactly go through it that well with the kind of luck it had.

  8. Kaz

Yeah thus arc wasn’t bad, and even the conclusion wasn’t bad (as it was obvious Yuya would be able to reach out to everyone involved), it just felt too abrupt to ve believable. I feel like one or two more episodes would already have made things a lot smoother.
Not too botheted by itas I was bothered by Synchro arc overstaying it’s welcome. Since they have only 30 or so episodes to go I inderstand they keeping XYZ, a trabsition arc, barebones. I just hope we get to see the Tyler sisters again, I’m freakin in love with those two.
