Look who’s having fun.

LALATINA.

I never thought this day would come. Kazuma has finally been freed of his debt. And his charges! What next, Yunyun making friends? The real question is how fast he’s going to lose the 40 million. Kazuma’s a complete scumbag, but he has done a lot for the town and the guild, and I’m sure he’s feeling quite vindicated that all of his efforts have been recognised, especially as not all the problems he solved were exactly his fault. Right, Aqua? I’m also a little surprised that Sena dropped all charges against him that easily. She saw Kazuma fight Vanir in person, so I’m sure she was convinced, but I was half expecting her to accuse him of creating a huge ruse involving him defeating one of the commanders in the demon king’s army (who just so happened to be near a popular low-level dungeon near the low-level starting town), or to say something like how Vanir can’t possibly be dead.

Vanir can’t possibly be dead. For some reason, something tells me that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of him. He needs to come back to narrate Kazuma’s lewd thoughts out loud. I know his mask has been broken, but he seems surprisingly competent. Even if Megumin has gotten stronger, would a single Explosion really kill him off, especially as it looked like Lalatina’s magic resistance also applied to him? Aqua was the one who dealt with Verdia, and Wiz was able to cast an Explosion last season without breaking a sweat (and Vanir seems to be extorting Wiz out of all the sparse funds she’s managing to earn from her shop). It felt like a suspiciously straightforward solution, although it is true that he seemingly wanted to die. Lalatina being the one to accompany Kazuma in ended up being a blessing in disguise. Her comedy routine with Vanir was hilarious. It’s a pity she didn’t end up keeping him around in mask form. That way, she can satisfy her fetish all by herself without having to get into actual danger. If it had been Megumin, she wouldn’t have stood a chance. Nor would the mask have fit her, both literally and stylistically. I guess it wouldn’t have been too bad if it was Aqua? Vanir seemed to hate her and the Axis cult for some reason, and so maybe he wouldn’t have bothered possessing her even if he had the chance. Which would have left Kazuma, and he essentially has free resurrections so long as no one’s around to see it happen.

Finally, did anyone else like these dolls? I know Lalatina likes them because she can actually hit them (or rather, because they fly into her sword) but aren’t they kind of cute? They remind me of the fairies in Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita. I was almost waiting for one of them to suddenly say something nihilistic.

Vanir couldn’t have possessed Aqua. He’s a devil: a goddess is basically his kryptonite. Frankly, if she’d actually be carrying her equipment (her staff and raiment) she probably could have purified him despite Darkness’ resistances.

Huh, I’ve never noticed that her staff and raiment are not always around. That’s weird. Maybe it’s because normally I focus on her crying and dishevelled expressions. Her accessories are also not as conspicuous as, say, Megumin’s hat.

Kazuma didn’t sell them off, did he?
