The girls continue to explore this newest layer of city, and while wandering through a random building they make a discovery: a room that has a door. This is something they haven’t seen before; all of the rooms in the buildings up until this point have been mere open doorways. And there’s been no signs of furniture in any of the buildings either. When they open the door, Chito and Yuuri find a room with two chairs, a small table, and a kitchen complete with a sink and fridge.

It’s getting late in the day, so Chito and Yuuri decide to stay in the room overnight. Together they dream up things they’d like to have in the room if it were theirs – a bunk bed, pantry, and full bookcase are some of what they come up with. Both girls reflect on how nice it would be to have a permanent, stable home which they could return to each day, and fall asleep with a real roof over their heads.

In the morning the girls resume their journey. Except maybe they shouldn’t have, because they’re both so exhausted that they fall asleep while Chito is driving the Kettengrad. Yuuri manages to awaken Chito in the nick of time just before hitting a wall, and Chito decides they should take a break and have a nap. This level of the city has so many streetlights that it kept the girls up late the night before, and we see a short flashback of the girls challenging each other to stack rocks to see how high they could go.

The girls lie down on a flat slab of rock to sleep, and Chito has some weird dreams. In the first dream, Chito wakes up atop a stack of rocks that is shaking because a giant-sized Yuuri is making the ground quake. Except instead of trying to help Chito and keep her safe, Yuuri torments Chito and tries to make her fall. When Chito does eventually fall, she lands in the ocean where she rides a large fish. Yuuri appears again, this time as a whale-sized fish who tries to eat Chito. In a cute throwback, the skeleton of the fish the girls ate back in episode two makes an appearance. xD

When Chito wakes up, she takes a few minutes to reflect on her dream while having some of the water they’ve collected. She stuffs a large rock in Yuuri’s open mouth, as the blonde is having yet another food-related dream.

In the last vignette, the girls are caught out in the open during an unexpected downpour. Luckily they find a small shelter nearby made up of rock slabs leaning against each other, but they still get soaking wet and have to hang up their coats to dry.

Chito pulls out a book to read while Yuuri tries to occupy herself. She pays attentions to the different sounds around her, eventually placing their helmets and then some old cans under raindrops and experimenting with the different sounds the raindrops make. The girls sit and relax for awhile and just listen to the sound of the rain, and honestly it made me smile because listening to rain is something I like to do too. Especially in the spring or fall when it’s not too cold, so I can hide inside with a window open and listen to it from a warm place. ~ <3

Eventually the rain stops and the girls enjoy the warmth of the sun as it emerges out from behind the clouds. They decide to extend their break a little longer; after all, what’s the rush?

My thoughts: As the girls travel up the many layers of the abandoned city, they seem to be finding more things that one would find in an actual city. By this I mean ammenities like electricity, running water, and now an actual home that someone once lived in.  I wonder, if they continue to travel upwards will they eventually find people? Or some kind of living creature?

This series is really cute, and I like the dynamic between the two girls, but I still struggle with how slow it is. I’m glad we learn a tidbit or two about their surroundings or the world’s history most episodes, but there’s still no overall plot that I can discern. For me that makes the show really hard to blog. Where is it going? What are the girls’ ultimate goals? Why do we not know more about the world they’re in, and where all the people have gone??? X_x

I think I will continue to watch the show for a little longer to see where it goes, but as of now I’m dropping this title and will no longer be covering it.
