Dang! I wish I could eat as much as Toriko. I’d never have to worry about choosing one menu item anymore lol. I love that they were able to open up with such fun interactions before getting to the meat of the episode. I like how open Toriko is with Sorao in admitting that she wouldn’t have been able to make it as far as they had without her. Plus, just a little casual flirting between the two is always welcome.

But wow, the completed mood shift when Sorao asked the waiter for an additional check for Kozakura? I had chills for the rest of the episode. I think they did a really good job keeping up the atmosphere for the episode, with an added bonus that they didn’t get through a single arc in one episode. I honestly couldn’t believe that we actually made it to the end of the episode because I was fully expecting this to be another one and done episode and I’m glad the series proved me wrong. I don’t think we made substantial progress in this episode, but I will give them props for keeping me invested in what will happen next. I mean, in addition to all the horrors we saw in this episode, there is still the lingering question of: Are the Marines really okay for these two to be around? Are they even human?

I’m inclined to believe that they are human, but something… not great is probably going to happen to the majority of them. I just don’t know what that is going to be yet. And the reason I’m choosing to believe they are human is because they actively attacked something in the Otherside. As far as we’ve experienced, I don’t think we’ve watched any of the creatures actually fight each other, but on that note, I don’t think we’ve seen more than one creature in the same area at the same time. So, for now I’ll trust the Marines and hope that they can do a good job protecting our girls. But there’s a warning going off in my head trying to convince me that they are just human-like and will lure the two into staying dangerously in the Otherside forever.

But I just want to say how much I appreciated this week’s episode. Toriko’s drunken mumbling while Sorao is incredibly on edge while heading to the station just help to build out the stress of the episode. I appreciate Toriko talking about how she had never been to the Otherside at night because it was too dangerous. It really amps up the worry for these two! And no offense! If I saw a robot dog with bodies hanging down from its underside I would ABSOLUTELY be terrified out of my mind. And I think what’s even more scary is that the creature didn’t every try to hunt them down. I’m not even sure if it acknowledges their existence. But just having that thing roaming around out there no thank you. And their fear was just amplified with the face spirit that ended up chasing them – it was a good moment and the music added to the fear! I just feel kind of bad that it reminded me of the sonic.exe music, and the moment that thought came in my head I couldn’t stop thinking about it. And that doesn’t even take into consideration the horned man! Where did he come from? What does he want? Did he adopt the convoy once it was abandoned by the military? Ahhh so many questions and I’m not sure if he will be back.

But as far as the “big reveal” of the episode, I think it went a little bit over my head. I don’t really know the significance of Kisaragi station. A quick google search takes me to a horror site, so I’ll definitely need to do a little bit of research on it before next week. And boy am I looking forward to next week! I wonder what sort of danger Toriko and Sorao will come across as they try to return home.
