After plans of me catching up to shows failed, I decided to check out the other shows this season. I wasn’t sure at first if I wanted to cover this show, but I checked out the PV and liked the pretty colors. And after watching the episode itself, I was drawn in by the absolute craziness of it.

Mikagura Academy is certainly a unique school, as the school pushes the students into joining clubs. Usually in schools, joining clubs is encouraged to build friendships, find an extracurricular activity to take time in, and just because it’ll make you look good. But in this school, it’s basically forced into you to join one, or else you are just not going to like the time being in school. Depending on what club you’re in or what status, determines your living quarters and meals. Being in a club ensures you a private room, delicious food, and long showers. Those that aren’t in a club, well: they don’t even get a room, or even a bed. They have to sleep in a sleeping bag in the hallway. For food, you only get one side dish, not even a full meal. And only 5 minutes in a shower. We see all this when our main character, Eruna, gets into the school.

mgk1.24Eruna is an eccentric girl. She’s very much obsessed with a dating sim game, really attracted to girls that remind her of tropes from anime/video games, and…that’s basically it. She’s awfully lazy and only interested in games and stuff, that she doesn’t really care about which high school she goes to. The only criteria she has for it is that it must have cute uniforms. Her cousin (who’s pretty damn fine) comes over to her house and suggests Mikagura Academy, the same school he goes to. Handing her a brochure, Eruna falls in love with the cute uniforms, and the granddaughter of the principal of the school. Eruna is a pretty wacky girl. She’s always found playing games on her PSP. fantasizing about the girl from the dating sim game, and trying to impress cute girls. I found her pretty funny, and her joining as the going-home club’s representative, I wonder what the heck is going to happen to her. All the club representatives have to battle each other, but she just got to the damn school.

Another thing…this school. The entrance exam for the school was extremely easy, and Eruna didn’t even get to do anything, but she was given leniency because of her family name. She’s able to see Bimii no problem, so that’s strange. Why on earth would her cousin want her to go to this strange school, knowing how unique it is? How do the club representatives get powers? And why does this school have this system? Just what is the purpose of making its students join clubs so they won’t have to suffer sleeping in a sleeping bag, and what’s the point in all the fighting? And what the heck is Bimii? Of course this is only the first episode and things won’t be explained immediately, but these are just things I wonder about. The school is strange…very strange. And Eruna might be the “Chosen One” or something too.

I’m interested where this show is going to go, and I’m actually kinda excited to see the fights. We got a little bit of a fight in the beginning, which was kinda suspenseful and really cool. With the show’s bright colors and its nice animation, I’m sure it’ll be fun. I’m just worried about Eruna because she’s kind of a dope.

I’d make the same face at the cousin, except she’s daydreaming about Seisa.

I’m worried because the fight in the beginning looked like they vaporized Eruna’s love-interest.

Bimii -> Bimyou = Strange (Since in her eyes its a “strange” beeing)

Calling the Maid Kurumi right of the bat: Kuru (jap. saying “cool”) + mi (beauty) -> cool beauty

Eruna beeing a funny airhead :’D
Bimii even making a joke about her (not in anime tho) thats its rare to not have been born with a left brain (lack of sense and logic)

Like this show and hope they will keep it at that and that its not going to drop like Glaslip (although glaslip is somehow in a league of its own lol)

This show completely went over my radar. But after reading this I might actually check it out, sounds fun and pretty nice character designs.

This show is a lot crazier than I thought it would be. No logic at all. Eruna was… very unique? Very crazy and a total loser, but she looks adorable. She’s a little to much for me but I give this show credit for being original. Not a fan of yuri but I’m sensing that it will be more of a comedy thing so I think I can deal with it. I’m going to keep watching for now because I loved the animation and the artsy paint bishie looked super promising to me. And the premise was really cool, club fights? Heck yeah, It reminds me of Baka to Test and I really liked those fights.

I know, Bimi’s a flying neko. A tenshi neko? An exceed?
