Guys. Guys. SHIT HAPPENED THIS WEEK.

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO I AM GENUINELY SURPRISED
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO I AM GENUINELY SURPRISED

Guys, this week, get this- THEY FINALLY GOT THERE. They did it. THEY CAUGHT THE FEMININE TITAN! THEY WERE DOING SHIT! THINGS WERE HAPPENING GUYS. The plot came, and it assaulted us with a spiked mallet.

Yeah, you heard me.

THEY CATCH THE FEMININE TITAN ONLY FOR, GASP, SOMETHING TO HAPPEN AND THEY CAN’T ACTUALLY CATCH HER

even armin is sick of this shit
even armin is sick of this shit

Dammit anime, I know you’ve got like 38 chapters of manga to work with but come oooon. I know what you’re doing. I SEE WHERE THIS PLOT IS GOING. And don’t get me wrong, I’m happy stuff happened this week…but….this isn’t the feeling one should get when having watched 4 weeks of riding on horses and complaining and whining and doubting.

Granted, I’ll now go into a meaningful rant. Let’s pretend this wasn’t just a copout designed by an animation company who picked up a manga too soon on a whim to extend the anime far past what it actually has content for- Let’s say that’s not a thing, which it is. Speaking on terms of character development, we now know how every character in this anime feels. I honestly felt like *I* was the one running around on a horse being pissed off and confused.

Think about it, these fucking characters know as much as we do. We don’t get to learn more than they know, like fucking ever. We’re stuck over here with Eren and his confused whining going, “Son of a bitch I’m just as confused if not lacking Eren’s anger issues!” And I’m now just as frustrated that the feminine titan pulled a fast one on them.

This week, the feminine titan is caught. Everyone thinks about why it is they don’t know what’s going on- and it’s simple. Erwin only told the people involved since the Wall fell what his plan was, because he suspected a Titan shifter infiltrated their ranks. Because of that a lot of people died, but even Armin argues this was a choice that Erwin would have had to make, and no matter what a lot of people would have died. While I am dreadfully fed up with the slow pace of the plot, I am always pleased by the characters. WHY DO YOU MAKE ME SO SAD JEAN, I SHOULDNT LIKE YOU BUT I DO!

So, despite the fact that this show moves at a pace that makes me wish to impale it, I can’t help but continue to be it’s slave. The pacing is so…so terrible. Just awful, but whenever I’m watching I tend to forget that until it’s over and I’m thinking about what happened. Every week I’m going “What…..happened?….holy shit, nothing did….” and then I just wait for the next week. I should quickly compare this show to Blood C, another show I reviewed, with equally terrible pacing and as much gore as this show has.

I think what makes Attack on Titan shine is, it tells you just enough to make you feel important. And when you find out, the characters are just finding out. You share similar reactions, and grow more fond of characters. In Blood C, I hated every single minute of it and wished the show would burn in hell. I reviewed it today for some footage and realized, holy shit, this show is still fucking terrible. And you know what wasn’t terrible? Fucking Attack on Titan.

So while this show this week, and probably until the end of the season, is one of the most sexually frustrating non sexual animes I’ve ever seen- it’s good, and there’s no denying that. Even now at episode 20 with the plot being so dragged out I feel like fainting from a mixture of heat stroke and the bowel problems that killed Elvis, I still just want more, not less.

Fucking fine, Attack on titan. I’ll see your fine ass next week. BUT IT’S NOT LIKE I LIKE YOU OR ANYTHING, BAKA.
