Alright! Here we are, the last episode of Mekakucity Actors, Summertime Record. I wish I could say I was going in totally blind but i accidentally read the wiki of the PV for this episode and I’m already ready to sob my eyes out if it ends the way I think it’s going to. So with my tissues ready and my heart ready to break, let’s do this!

Well, this can be summed up in the entire group is full of fucking bad asses! Even Takane! She is amazing, all of them are amazing. They use their powers to find their way down to the professor. Fighting through guards, even by becoming cyber girl Ene and blasting the guards ears out. It’s a huge leap in Takane’s character when she tells them just to call her Ene, despite all the denying she did in the past.

Kido punishes Kano for keeping the secret about their father and Ayano for so long with a month long of bathroom duty. Even Hibiya is useful, and he’s done probably the least of anyone in this series so far.

Shintaro gathers Haruka as well. Time to bring this story to and end, he tells the story of the heat haze days. The repeating timelines.

This guy is sick, this guy is sick! I HATE THIS GUY, HE’S TOTALLY SICK. OH GOD, NO, LEAVE KUNOHA ALONE! OH GOD, NO, KUROHA! The Snake inside of the professor possesses him.

vlcsnap-14975155 vlcsnap-14975378

He intends to murder them, all of them. NO! KIDO! KANO!

He wants Marry to restart time again, to make her wish, over and over again. Marry remembers all of the good times and the snakes begin to leave everyone. Relive the nightmare…again.

Seto tells her not to be afraid, they all reassure her. it’s going to be alright. Ayano and Shintaro come back. Haruka fights back against Kuroha, he’s going to die…the snakes all gather.
Even the professor tells him that it’s over, that his wish has been granted. it’s over, it’s all over.

This will be the last future, the one last future. Haruka has his last wish granted, Marry’s mother asks her the one important question, is she happy? She says yes, she says absolutely yes. With this final timeline, they all get together.

Come on! Say you love each other you two! Come on Ayano and Shintaro, damn it admit you’re in love with each other!!!!! ARG! THIS MIGHT BE MY ONLY PROBLEM, SINCE THEY LOVE EACH OTHER AND IT’S TOTALLY OBVIOUS! (honestly, if them not confessing is my biggest complaint, then that tells you how good this is.)

Takane and Kano give them a hard time as everyone else meets up with them. The ending kicks up. I assume they go to the theme park without anyone dying horridly this time. (manga refrence!) I didn’t cry as much at the ending as I thought I would because it didn’t elude to the same thing that I read about the group drifting apart at the end of the PV’s.

Final thoughts on Mekaku?

OH GOD I LOVED THIS SERIES, THIS WAS SOOO GOOD. I LOVED THIS SHOW! I’VE GONE ON TO WATCH THE PV’S AND READ THE MANGA! THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE CHARACTER I HATED,(Though I don’t love Hibiya as much as i love everyone else, I don’t hate him) I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SHOW!

I laughed, I cried, I had moments where I had total mental breakdowns. I adored this series so very much. It starts out confusing but really brings everything together, even if you’re not a fan of the PV’s before hand it’s good for you to get into the series. Some of my favorite songs and the episodes that go with them include.

Ep 3- Kisaragi Attention

Ep 4- Heat Haze Daze
vlcsnap-1146085
??? – Yobanashi Deceive
vlcsnap-13580005
Ep 9 – Ayano’s theory of Happiness.

If i come out of this series with anything, it’s a bunch of new Vocaloid songs and a new favorite anime character. I give Mekakucity Actors a 8/10. The animation got weird at certain places in the series, that’s the thing really bringing it down from being a perfect 10.

Omg I was also waiting for them to confess to each other but alas, we’re left hanging in that aspect. XD I think what makes me the most glad is the fact that the Mekakucity kids finally got their happy ending, and it’s really sweet to see. 🙂 It would’ve been nice if there was more running time so that we could see more about characters like Takane and Haruka (and the rest of the gang of course haha) but oh well. ^^; One thing that’s pretty awesome though, is the fact that Summer Time Record here is sung by Jin, the creator of the series himself! 😀

That reminds me, before I forget…they released a drama cd which shows how Shintaro and Ayano first met, you can find a translation online here: http://thesquiggles.tumblr.com/post/88788352357/kagerou-project-drama-cd

I have to say, thank you so much for reviewing this series! It was great reading your thoughts on each episode, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😀

THANK YOU! Thank you for keeping an open mind about this, trying to understand it and not hating the series! I am seriously thinking of putting up a sarcastic guide to Mekakucity Actors to dumb it down. A lot. I have honestly enjoyed reading all of your reviews and enthusiastic fangirling over Kano. Thanks a lot for posting these reviews. Over the past 12 weeks I have looked forward to two things. The new episodes of Actors and your reviews.

They actually DID drift apart: in the last sequence, Marry says “if i went back in time, its possible that a future like that could have happened”. Which means that the last scenes did not actually happen, but are just Marry’s imagination. Since the characters dont need to gather around their queen anymore, they dont need her anymore, so everyone does go its own way in the end. (except for the couples i guess haha)

you’re giving it a 8/10 because of weird animations? actually thats made it so great and tied into the story so perfectly. i give it a 9/10, not 10/10 because i wish it continued longer or had more time to develop the story properly since it seemed a bit too quick and rushed but all in all it was absolutely amazing. And in my opinion the songs being tied into the anime worked perfectly because of the setting and lyrics, couldn’t have been better.

Oh it was great, I loved the story and believe me it was very close to getting a 9/10 or a 10/10 because I am hard pressed to think of something I didn’t like about the series and I adored EVERY instance of a song being included in an episode. Honestly, mostly what brought it down was a few wonky choices for the animation at points (Ayano’s theory of happiness, I don’t even KNOW what that animation was supposed to be.} Otherwise GOD this show was really good, I’m really glad you guys enjoyed my reviews (and my enthusiastic Kano fan girling. -shoves all my screen shots of him into a folder and keeps listening to Yobanashi Deceive on repeat- .)
