In an unusual turn of event there is not much to talk about this week. The primary focus was on how everything is over now. There’s no better way to describe this episode than as an epilogue episode. Seriously, everything we hear from beginning to end is about school and how everything is going to go for each character. We also kind of understand why the series with its current cast is being replaced by a new one: FUCKING EVERYONE IS GOING OFF TO COLLEGE! Seriously. Miwa and Misaki are going to school together, Aichi is going to become a senior, and Kai and Ren are both very important on the scouting list. Oh did I also mention Ren becomes the national Champion? FANGIRLING PAID OFF GOOD SIR!
Other than that, the only things of note are the conclusion of last episode they don’t show for awhile. The main one being that Kourin has now forgotten Aichi and everyone else, which despite my dislike of her still kind of hurt. Add on that Kai isn’t showing up around the card shop anymore and I feel really bad for Aichi that his closest companions are either AFK or in amnesia purgatory. It also makes me angry that Kai is being such a tsundere when he’s made it VERY clear he cares ALOT about Aichi, and is in fact probably the one person responsible for carrying his burden.
I wanted to make this episode a final impression episode about Vanguard and it’s cast but…I kind of can’t do that now. Despite the lackluster nature, there will in fact be one more episode. I’m sure the Kourin story has to come around full circle, and I’m sure that there’s small school stuff they have to figure out. And hey, Ren’s gonna be there, so can I really complain? (yes, I can, but I’ll look at his sexiness while doing so). So..until then?
