So when is the wedding?

Impression

Vigne-san, you’re so cute!

Coffee man is right! Isn’t she such an angel? Gab comes over in dire need of help (although it was most likely her own fault as the mosquitos probably wouldn’t have turned up had her room not been so filthy) and Vigne gets her cleaned, fed and treated. She’d be the perfect wife. She’s even up for hugs when scared, and smells good too. Why hasn’t Gab married her yet?

It’s also nice to see Raphi getting more attention in terms of being an actual character (as opposed to just being Satania’s stalker). Unsurprisingly she still has that underlying S tendency no matter who she’s with, but strangely I feel like she gets along quite well with Vigne. It’s nice to have scenes featuring the ‘opposite’ pairing too, i.e. mixing up the ‘primary’ angel-demon pairings that the show has established with Gab-Vigne and Raphi-Satania. The next shake-up would be, I suppose, to have scenes with Gab and Raphi alone (which will be interesting as we’ve only seen them together before whilst still uncorrupted) and Vigne and Satania, who I’m not sure even knew each other before being sent to the human world. Also, I thought there was some nice irony in Raphi talking about finding differences between subtitles and the actual dubbing. A grasp of even basic Japanese will reveal that CR (and therefore HS) are rather guilty of that themselves, especially as far as Gabriel DropOut itself is concerned. I’d say it’s better to term CR releases closer to being ‘localisations’ instead of faithful translations, although I’ve seen more severe examples (e.g. Commie) and it’s kind of understandable in the end given that CR caters to the most mainstream of viewers.

Gab was especially unmotivated this episode. She’s always unmotivated to an extent, but she felt especially dead whilst on her shift. Probably because working goes completely counter to how she wants to live her life. But coffee man is such a good person! He’s even nicer than Vigne. I was wondering how Gab even passed the interview to get the job in the first place, but if it was this guy then I completely understand how she did it. There’s absolutely no way she’ll find an easier place to work than Angel Coffee. The uniform isn’t bad either – as in, it’s a waitress uniform, but it’s not an overly frilly or outrageous maid-themed one that she needs to be embarrassed over. Gab in a ponytail does… things to me, I will admit. Oh, but I’ve already given my heart to Vigne, so she can’t have that.

You have to wonder how coffee man keeps that shop afloat if it’s empty all the time, though. And somehow he has the expenses to go on a foreign trip to buy hand-picked coffee beans every year. I was crying inside when he decided to give Satania something on the house (and if Satania had actually ordered the most expensive thing there it’d have been her most demonic act yet). He’ll go bust at this rate!
