Honestly, how does Shirogane keep getting himself into these messes?
In this weeks first segment we return to the couple that keeps coming to the student council for relationship advice. One month into their relationship and the guy is ready to take it to the next level, he wants to hold her hand. I can’t believe he needs advice from Shirogane for something so simple, but Shirogane is up for the task. As he says, he may be a virgin but he can handle simple things like hand holding. The ABC’s of relationships are a cinch for him or so he says, though his advice ends up being massively off.
Trying to set the right mood? Get a boat, to get a boat? Get a job.
No boating licence? Job.
Sweaty palms? Job.
It becomes increasingly more and more obvious to me that this is less about giving advice and more about getting this guy to take up the vacancy at Shirogane’s part time job. Thank goodness Chika walks right into this mess, takes one moment to listen to the problem and deadpan says. “Well that’s boring, just do it.” honestly, the correct answer here was to just let it happen and be spontaneous and Chika’s advice does end up working out. Unfortunately, not so sure about that vacancy at the part time job, though Kaguya thinks that she would really enjoy it if Shirogane asked her to pick it up.

Part 2 is actually just that meme “A picture taken moments before a tragedy.” as Ishigami further signs his absolute death warrant. As Shirogane and Ishigami sit together and discuss the budgets for the clubs, eventually rolling off topic to the girls and what clubs they are in.
It seems that Japan in no different than the US in the fact that sports club are more highly valued and thus get more money then the cultural clubs.
Ishigami mentions that Chika is in the board game club and that Kaguya is in Japanese Archery. Which he comments is perfect for her body type, since she is flat and that Chika wouldn’t be able to pull it off since she is stacked. He keeps harping on their breast sizes, completely caught unaware of the fact that the girls are right behind him. Chika fashions a news paper into a weapon and attacks without a care, and i’m still pretty sure that Kaguya is out for his blood. He dismisses himself saying he needs to go home and write his will. The girls then cling to Shirogane, begging him to join their club an allot more money to it. Unfortunately for both of them, he can’t join a club because of his part time job but he gets to feel good being fought over for a bit. So it’s a victory for Shirogane.

Lastly, part 3 is just super relatable from a lot of different angles.
Either you’re Chika in the massively relatable role of wanting to watch your friend laugh themselves half to death over something silly. You’re Kaguya, the friend laughing themself half to death over something silly. Shirogane, who is embarrassed and wants to avoid talk of perverted things all together or your Ishigami and only hearing part of the conversation and taking it entirely out of context and being a huge pervert as a result. The long and the short of this part is that Kaguya, after the embarrassing blunder earlier in the series with what ‘first time’ meant, started researching the more sexual side of relationships. She reached the stage that we all do as we are growing up where we find suggestive terms funny and Chika discovers this and uses it to her advantage to make poor Kaguya burst into laughter over and over again.
This part is just downright hilarious, the reactions are on point and as I said above each members reaction is truly something you can feel because you either are that person or know someone like that.

I think the strongest part of this episode was part three for sure, and the weakest was the second part. So much so that I struggled to remember anything about it other then Ishigami getting smacked by Chika’s impromptu weapon. It’s interesting to just see these characters interact, there were no love schemes this week and each character sort of got a moment to shine in their own way. That’s what makes this show so great, it varies things up just enough that it doesn’t grow stale and the comedy and characters are always on point.
Another completely solid week.
