Dammit Phil, stop ruining tense moments! I’m starting to become suspicious of this little kid (again). Also, these kids really need to stop screaming at the top of their lungs in the middle of the night in this creaky house. Krone hearing everything? Yeah, not surprising at all. 😐

The episode was really intense. I loved how the show went back and forth with Emma’s group and Don and Gilda. As Don and Gilda were slowly learning the truth, Emma and the others were gaining more info on their own. While Don and Gilda sneaking into Isabella’s secret room was insanely stupid and reckless, it showed us some pretty interesting things. It was really creepy how Isabella’s kept something from each child she’s shipped out, like a toy or a bowtie. Mostly toys. Don and Gilda fiding Little Bunny in there is what set them off, wanting to know what the truth was even though they had an idea that there was absolutely no saving for the kids already gone. But seeing all those toys and various objects was creepy as hell. Why on earth would Isabella keep them? Are they supposed to be some sort of special trophy of each kid she’s shipped out, reminding her of a good job? Or is the show supposed to have me believe Isabella kept them in memory of the child because she supposedly cared about them? I call bullshit on that.

While they did that, Emma, Norman, and Ray decide to somehow learn more about the outside. They feel like they have enough info on the inside but don’t on the outside so they plan to do something about that. But Emma found something very interesting. Many books in the library have a certain stamp in them with the picture of an owl and one name: William Minerva. Thanks to PHIL, showing Emma the children’s book with the same stamp, Emma noticed the same name popping up in lots of other books. Emma shows them all to Norman and Ray and they all notice something strange about the stamp. The circle in each one is different. And since these kids are insanely smart, they figure out it’s morse code. Deciphering each method, they come across stunning messages. Truth. Run. Danger. Doubt. Farm. Whoever this William Minerva, whether he’s human or not (they assume he is), it sounds like he was trying to help all the kids in the farm if they ever decipher his message. If he his human, then there has to be a society of humans on the outside somewhere. It’s something, and they want to investigate it further.

The confrontation in the dining room was really well done but again it was making me nervous because they were yelling crying so loudly that anyone could hear them, and the the way the camera was placed made it seem like someone was overhearing them, which turned out to be Krone in the end. I understand Don feeling angry and useless, it does feel terribly that your own family doesn’t believe in you and your strength enough to tell you the ugly truth. This brought about lots of anger and violence from him where he punched both Norman and Ray, but thankfully they were all able to patch things up quickly. Now that they’re all on the same page, they can all move forward together. The next bit is interesting. I love that Norman is making Ray give Isabella false info, but the next shipment possibly being Ray is really scary. I feel like Isabella is suspecting him though, I just have a feeling. Emma, Norman, Don, and Gilda all head out with some tools to do some testing but they get stopped by Krone, who overheard every single thing and now wants to strike a deal with them.

Next episode should be very exciting now that Krone knows that the ones who know the secret are the five oldest kids. I can imagine her proposal is maybe helping them escape but with the catch of taking down Isabella. Also, Norman found something under the floorboards under Ray’s bed. I wonder what it was. We’ve hit the halfway mark so it’ll be fun to see how things will pick up.
