Daitoshokan No Hitsujikai Episode 7 (Aka the episode that made Hideki squee like a little girl)

You know, I almost didn’t review this show. This was actually the very last (next to tribe cool crew) series I decided to pick up this season. And you know what? If nothing else but solely for Kodachi I am SO glad I did. I love this character so so so much (kodachi jumps in rank in top 10 to top 5) But enough of that, you’re probably wondering why I named the title what I did. well let’s begin.

The episode starts out with the four girls and the best friend character thinking about what type of girl Kakei would like (I feel so bad for the best friend character).

They decide the best way to go about this is for all four of them to go on a date with him and discover for themselves which he likes more. (of course leaving out the male friend because they’re all a bunch of self serving DOUCHES.)

They arrive at his door early in the morning. And I laughed because he thinks it’s Kodachi.

The girls then decide to bust into his room and start looking through his stuff and making comments about the cleanliness and do his dishes and stuff.

Eventually they all go off on their “date” at the mall (Kodachi tags along as she kind of just pops up in Kakei’s room as she tends to do). They fart around a bunch shopping for clothes and stuff and the singing girl and Kodachi even get into a DDR battle.

Eventually the date ends when Kodachi tells him that he has to go do Shepard stuff. Apparently this guy at the mall would meet Shirasaki and would become obsessed with her and mass market love dolls in the future to her likeness. If he didn’t he’d become a famous author.

Funnily enough, Kodachi doesn’t know what a love doll is. So Kakei tells her. and i laughed.

They deride this crisis by having Kakei pretend to be Shirasaki’s boyfriend. At first I was worried about this scene, but he looks so meh and not caring after this scene was over, I was actually sort of relieved.

See? It’s more of a “oh good. i’m glad the mission went well” instead of being embarrassed because he likes her. Which is VERY GOOD.

After the mission is over, we find out the reason the girls were asking him about which kind of girl he likes is because they received a request from their email that there’s a girl who likes Kakei but wants to know what kind of girl he likes. (yeah. sure that’s the only reason).

It’s revealed to Kakei shortly that the person who made this email was Kodachi.

She does it to show him that he could be happy and doesn’t have to be a Shepard because we learn a twist here. There’s been hints and such, but they finally reveal that if you become a Shepard, you don’t have a book period and everyone forgets about you as if you never existed.

She then asks him if he could be okay with everyone forgetting about him. He answers with that he doesn’t think he could.

Kodachi then informs him that if he’s going to drop out of the Shepard competition he had better do it soon.

Kakei then asks Kodachi if SHE’S okay with everyone forgetting about her. And she responds with informing him that She wants to make the world a better place, and she’s already prepared to give up everything for it.

To which Kakei responds

And then, the thing that made me squee like a 12 year old girl happened.

Kodachi, shocked at first, tears in her eyes, runs up to Kakei, grabs him by the tie, and kisses him

the next 10 seconds involved me squeeing and Oki asking me what that loud noise was as said squeeing commenced.

I have never cared more about two characters kissing in ANYTHING before.

This is the thing I was hoping for for the past 4 episodes. And i’m so happy with this.

The episode ends with Kodachi telling him that she’s he’ll forget that kiss and she’s already given up everything to make this Shepard dream happen and she runs away, and that ends the episode.

I…I’m so confused right now.

This show began with Kodachi being a character that only showed up maybe for 30 seconds in each of the first 3 episodes and she evolved into a main character.

I am very impressed with this. She literally came out of left field and stole the show. I do not care about ANY of the other girls. Kodachi literally swooped in and stole my heart. She is by far “THE” character of the season.

Now, speaking of the other girls, before I go back to fangasming over Kodachi, I have to say something. These four other girls are fucking clucking hens. They don’t do ANYTHING other than clamor over how they want Kakei’s dick. Even Shirasaki, who you’d ASSUME is the “main” girl is just busy talking about how everyone in the group looks good with him.

It really seems the only person they have an issue with him being with is Kodachi. And that’s because they’re a bunch of selfish bitches.

Which brings me to another point. How they treat Takamine is DISGUSTING. Because they all want Kakei’s dick so so so badly they COMPLETELY ignore him even to the point of him being the only one not invited to the group date.

And here’s what bothers me. Shirasaki’s whole schtick is she can’t seem to make/have friends. Well you know what bitch? One of the first things is to NOT COMPLETELY FUCKING IGNORE ONE OF THEM.

Everyone (the four girls) ignores him because they don’t want his dick in them. And that disgusts me. They’re supposed to all be friends and they treat him as a third wheel. Fuck all of you.

The only girl that has an excuse not to hang out with him is Kodachi. The only reason she’s around at all is to help out Kakei in his Shepard training. She is not really part of the club and is there basically because she has to.

They ain’t going to go for the harem ending. It’s an anime. Not an eroge game. Kakei’s only going to pick one of you. And i can already GUARANTEE it won’t be singing girl, black haired girl, or blonde girl. So the three of you should go find some other prospects. AND STOP BEING DOUCHES.

But as I was saying, the Kodachi development in this episode was phenomenal. We’re really seeing more into her psyche and learning more about her. I am SO surprised at what they’ve done with her. Judging by the opening you would NEVER assume she was a main character like this. And the things they’ve done are phenomenal.

If Kakei ends up with Kodachi I will preorder this series the SECOND that I am allowed to.

At this point, there has been NO further development with Shirasaki..at all for over 4 episodes. And the development they gave her was weak at best. If they pair him with her not only will I be SEVERELY PISSED AND DISAPPOINTED, I’ll be VERY confused as I don’t know how or why they’d go in that direction after doing so much with Kodachi.

Please show, I beg you. Make yourself my runaway hit of the season. Like I said before. If he ends up with Kodachi, you WILL be in my top 10. I swear it.

Episode: 8.5/10  (if he ends up with Kodachi, I will retroactively change it to a 9.5)
