I don’t know if Dance with Devils and High School Star Musical are communicating with each other. Maybe when they are drinking fruit tea and eating cakes in Animu-Land they are ploting against me but it seems like they’ve both decided to present me some really MEH episodes this week. God Dammit STARMYU (can I call you STRAMYU ? You don’t mind ? perfect), WHY U DO ZIS ? I thought that we were friends! You were supposed to make me laugh every week and in exchange I’ve promised to not bitch about your shitty graphics !
Well, you didn’t keep your promise so there you go, I leaked some awful screenshots, I tried to avoid this situation STARMYU, but with this week’s episode, you leave me no choice ʕ； •`ᴥ•´ʔ
Ok, Enough Joking around Chari, Let’s review this ୧ʕ•̀ᴥ•́ʔ୨

Our favorite dancing boys’ team is training hard to look straight (doesn’t seems to work that well if you ask me) and for the Ayanagi Festival when Ootori arrives with cheap energy drinks. Later on, we will find out that it was supposed to be orange juice but I’m pretty sure Ootori actually gave them energy drinks full of chemical stuff in order to increase their testosterone rate. Nice try Ootori , I shall give you that. Because they drank the juice without shaking the can, they all begin to do push-ups in order to shake the juice inside their stomachs…. I guess… I don’t know… It’s been only 4 minutes since the beginning but I don’t understand anything… I think I won’t try anymore, or … this could be a good drinking game. Every time a character says something or does something stupid you drink a shot.
After this awkward and cheaply animated scene, the Kao Council summons Ootori to announce him that his Star Team’s performance has been canceled. Looks like the plan of the unbearable version of Hinata, the brown useless fellow and the guy who’s supposed to be french but can only say “oui”, worked out well in the end. Congratulation on being huge jerks, shall I send you your “Dick-trophy” by mail or do you want to come and pick it up at the “Ass-ociation” ? ʕ ᓀ ᴥ ᓂ ʔ
-Take a shot for Kao Council’s bullshit during the past episodes-
Anyway, Hiragi informs Ootori that even if his team is dissolved, Ootori’s position in the Kao Council is maintained (like if Ootori cares). Also he asks him to not run away “like he did before”. OOUUH I can sense the heart breaking story from miles away! Are you ready to discover their background stories and maybe finally understand the reason behind Ootori’s current haircut ? I WANT ANSWERS !!
Ootori and Hiragi were actually happy brothers, but one day, when they were practicing their dance moves in the garden, the chief of the Hiragi Family came and took Ootori’s brother who’s real name is Tsubasa (aka: Hiragi), away. He wanted him to become the new “child of the Head Hiragi Family”. So he basically kidnapped him and the two child were separated. But they promised to each other to practice together again someday.
A few years later, they are both reunited on the same Star Team led by Tsukishima’s older brother who’s named Haruto. During all these years, Tsubasa Hiragi has been trained “Hardcore mode” by the old man be to be perfect at signing, dancing and basically everything. As for Ootori… We don’t know, I think he had a pretty balanced childhood since his haircut was still normal at the time. When they first met at the School, Hiragi is a bit cold towards Ootori but overall he seems pretty happy to see him. The others members of Tsukishima’s Star Team are the future members of the current Kao Council: Annoying Hinata, Useless-kun and Fake French. They all train pretty hard and managed to rank first at the Debut Performance.
However, Ootori does not seem happy with the way that things are done and wants to add a more “personal touch” to their performances. Even at the time all the Members of the Kao Council had a broom up in the ass and refused to change everything. But Ootori wants to be free and to dance like he want to. Hiragi doesn’t understand his brother’s way of thinking and calls him selfish. Ootori then decides to leave the Star Team. Of course, Hiragi doesn’t accept the fact that his brother is leaving and thinks that Ootori is betraying him. He was hoping to practice more with his brother and to improve with him, like they promised when they were kids. Ootori replies by saying that even if he’s not a part of the team anymore he still wants to dance with Hiragi. However, the last one decides, as a reply, to play the act of the prodigious soon: ” I’m a member of the Hiragi Family, I’ll be number one, I ‘ll join the Kao Council and be a douchebag to you the rest of the Anime”. Then, maybe because he had enough of Hiragi’s bullshit, Ootori decides to leave.
-If you’re still playing the drinking game with me this part counts for at least 3 shots-
END OF THE FLASH-BACK
Back to the present days, Hiragi is still thinking about his past and after crushing a rose until he bleeds (for some reason… SHOT TIME !), he decides to play piano in an empty room because BOY HE’S DEEP. But he’s not alone for too long. Indeed, his beloved brother, Ootori, comes to find him and ask him to remember something from the past.. WAIT ?! AGAIN ?! But we were there just 2 minutes ago ! Do we really have to go back? Ok, let’s do that. Guess that leaves less screen time to Ootori’s weird haircut to shine ʕ ᓀ ᴥ ᓂ ʔ
-Take a SHOT for the annoying story-line –
Haruto Tskugami, used to give them orange juice after practice. But right after they drank it he was lecturing them. Also, according to Ootori: ” He was probably using the orange juice to hide his embarrassment when he had to say something that was hard to say.“
If you understood something about the Orange Juice story, please explain it to me because I didn’t understand anything. Lecturing them about what ? Why did Haruto thought that giving them Orange Juice BEFORE lecturing them was helping out with anything ? AND HOW IN THE SEVENTH HELL IS THIS INFORMATION USEFUL ?! As far as I know, Ootori did give his team Orange juice but he didn’t say anything bad after that, plus at that point, it was impossible for him to know that his Team was being demolished by the Dick-Council ! ʕ ◔ᴥ◔ ʔ
-Ok… that’s worth 3 shots at least! –
The next sequence, before the insert song, was the only one that made me laughed a bit: Hiragi and Ootori were looking at each other’s eyes saying their names while the camera was doing close up plans on their faces. This was so awkward:
-“I like U bruh…”
Apparently, Hiragi has been protecting Otoori all the time and he never forgot about their promise when they were kids. Also, Ootori is leaving the Kao Council. I don’t really know when he announced that but…
Time for the insert song… MEH again, a bit plain if you ask me, full of rather complicated words to make the whole thing a lot deeper. Didn’t really work on me ʕ ◔ᴥ◔ ʔ
After that, Ootori sees Yuta at the same place when they first saw each other, well actually, where Yuta saw Young-decent-Hair cut Ootori dancing in the rain. Yuta is practicing the same old dance and Ootori who is not as stupid as his haircut understands that he is the rain dude, Yuta’s hero and the one that truly makes his kokoro doki-doki. He gives Yuta advice on how to dance like the rain dude without mentioning the fact that he’s actually the rain dude. He also takes the advantage of the opportunity to place his hands everywhere on Yuta’s body, to “teach him”how to dance. Of course…
But nothing works. Yuta still doesn’t understand that his idol is Ootori. At some point it even begins to rain but NEH, the rain dude and Ootori-senpai don’t have the same hair cut so they can’t be the same guy. I told you, this haircut is a product of the devil.
-SHOOOTS, we have to compensate Yuta’s blindness by drowning ourselves into alcohol-
I’m tired with all this bullshit. So I’ll leave the word of the end to Ootori:
” I want those boys to come to like the taste of Orange Juice”

So what’s my main problem with this episode ? Well, I was bored since the beginning until the end.
This episode had a more serious tone than the others but that didn’t work out so well for me. I know I was supposed to be moved by Hiragi’s and Ootori’s childhood story but NEH. I don’t feel anything inside my fragile Kokoro and I can assure you that he’s working really well because I usually cry all the time. Their story is so basic and so predictable than I couldn’t feel anything for both of them. Also, I don’t particularly like Hiragi and Ootori so I guess this fact didn’t play in their favor. No tears, no laugh during this episode. Just a plain MEH.
I hope next week will be better. That’s almost the end of the anime and I don’t want it to end on this note. I still believe in you STARMYU ! Don’t disappoint me

In my opinion, I felt bad for the characters.
I think their background story is not bad. What happened to them is sad but the way things were presented in this episode didn’t make me feel anything but boredness… Also, I think I just wanted to get over the ” Ootori leaving the Kao Council” thing because, for me, the starting point of this problem is the Ginger guy’s bullshit. Like Midnight said in her review, the idea of destroying Ootori’s Star team and firing Ootori from the Kao Council is just wrong. So yeah, I wasn’t really looking forward to this episode…
